Severus and Lily, our favourite Spaniels from Spaniel Life enjoy a very doggie afternoon tea at Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge, London…

We’re Severus and Lily, two Working Cocker Spaniels from the countryside. On a mission to share our dog-friendly travels and adventures with you.

As keen travellers and explorers, we’re always keen to find the best of the best dog-friendly places to visit. Of course, we love staying at wonderful hotels, but also finding the best things to do, see and eat as VIP’s (very important pets).

The Egerton House Hotel recently welcomed us in for their doggy afternoon tea. As a very well established dog-friendly hotel in London, this seemed the perfect experience to enjoy whilst staying with them, or visiting the city.

In the heart of beautiful Knightsbridge is the luxurious Egerton House Hotel where you’ll feel totally spoilt, but totally at home all at the same time. We were welcomed with loving arms, and fussed over straight away. With both staff, and other visitors totally loving our presence and feeling very comfortable with us sniffing around and getting to know the place.

With no formal restaurant at this hotel, it works well with allowing dogs into the lounge area where both human and hound afternoon teas take place. The human afternoon tea menu is wonderful, with ours trying the champagne and cream scones whilst we opted for the four-legged menu of the doggy afternoon tea.

Already set up with water bowls and place mats before our three-tiered bowls of goodies arrived. The dog-friendly afternoon tea menu consists of meat loaf, yummy biscuits and dog ice cream. All of which went down far too quickly – we even got second helpings of the meat loaf!

We were fussed over as every member of staff walked by, and truly felt spoilt whilst the humans enjoyed relaxing, sipping pink fizz whilst the sun shone down through the windows of the hotel.

After finishing our afternoon treat, we soon said goodbye before posing for some photos – we are top models after all and made our way to Hyde Park, which is very close, for a run and play around.

Note from our owner Steph: The dog-friendly menu at the Egerton House Hotel is £18 which also includes a special chew toy to take home. Although Lily and Severus could have shared we treated them to a tea each. It was really rather special to see their afternoon tea come out so well presented and treat them like we love to be treated too. We can’t thank the hotel enough and really hope to visit again soon!
