It may be said that we’re spoilt pooches, and that’s probably correct. The humans treat us well, and in return we like to do nice things for them too.
Mum celebrated her birthday at the start of the month, and so we treated her to a stay at the gorgeous Grosvenor Arms, in Dorset.
In the lovely village of Shaftesbury, and home of “Hovis Hill” The Grosvenor Arms is a gorgeous hotel – homely and cosy but very swanky for us pooches too.
It was one that we knew Mum had been eyeing up for some time, and it lived up to all our expectations.
The bedrooms were lovely, a massive king-size bed for Mum and Dad and a small dog bed and bowl waiting for our arrival too. Mum enjoyed a bubble bath and they even had a coffee machine for our early Spaniel alarm, ready for walkies the next morning.
Not only were the rooms wonderful, but the whole place had so much character and homely-ness about it too. The wood burner in the bar and the cosy sofas where we kept Mum and Dad company while they sipped (2-for-1) cocktails.
Dogs were spotted everywhere, and at one point there was a dog for every human in the cosy bar and lounge – see, dogs do rule the world!
We met Spaniels, Labradors and Pugs – all came to say hello to us and we even got fussed by their owners too.
Breakfast in the morning was good and although we didn’t get any sausages for ourselves, we could join the Mum and Dad in the restaurant. However, the wood burner was calling our name again after the chilly early morning walk.
The bar area has a great selection of food for all times of day. As well as the sofas and comfy chairs that we snoozed on the night before, it also has regular table and chairs – perfect for eating with your four-legged chum.
We had such a great time, and can’t wait for our next PetsPyjamas getaway!
