Despite stating in 2012 that ‘one dog’s probably enough’, it seems Barack Obama has given into the wishes of his daughters, gaining a new addition to the family in the form of Sunny, a one year old Portugese Water Dog. Just like Bo, the family’s first dog, Sunny will not agitate the allergies of eldest daughter Malia, and is full of energy and effection. While Bo has white paws, Sunny is all black.

The White House has stated that ‘Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo – full of energy and very affectionate – and the First Family picked her name because it fit her cheerful personality.’ It’s clear that Sunny is already comfortable with her new family, seen in a video posted by Michelle Obama to be happily playing with Bo in the executive mansion’s South Lawn.
