Trend Report AW12

Tomboys, look away now. The lady is back with a vengeance for winter. Fifties skater skirts, buttoned-up blouses and bouncy blowdries ruled the catwalk. Translate the trend for pets with pretty pink leads, crystal-embellished collars and even a dog buggy. High maintenance has never been so chic:

The catwalk was awash with a sea of cobalt blue at the AW12 shows. A specific shade of cerulean worn from head to toe was offset only by the simplest of accessories for a futuristic look. Perfect for pets? An electric blue collar and matching lead with chunky silver hardware:

It’s all about furry textures for autumn/winter. Opt for fuzzy details for your pet – a faux fur carrier or fuzz brightside collar will tap into this tactile trend perfectly:

Heritage style has never felt so fresh, as designers pay homage to country classic for the season ahead. Utility fabrics and traditional tweeds came reworked in tailored silhouettes and offset with corduroy and plaid. Talk about a pet-perfect trend – pups will look stylish in checked neckerchiefs and tweed coats:

An enduring print, flower patterns re flourishing for AW12. This time it’s all about stylised florals in hothouse hues – bright, vivid and statement-making. A bouquet-bedecked collar or bed is all you need for a blooming stylish look:

Matchy-matchy or colourful and clashing, AW12 is the season of prints that pack a powerful punch. Look to Prada’s coordinating tunics and cropped trousers for a nod to the seventies or go modern in clashing patterns. More is definitely more so don’t be afraid to offset a floral collar with a polka dot lead. It’s all in the clash:
