Friendly and intelligent, Collies are considered great family pets. Although Collies love to play outside they are very sensitive to the sun and may need sun block, particularly on their noses. A kennel can also provide shade without the Collie having to go indoors. Though very active, Collies also have a tendency to over-eat.  Smaller bowls prevent over-feeding and dietary foods can help too. Lassie is undoubtedly the most famous Collie.
