German Shorthaired Pointers are amongst the most energetic of dog breeds- they love hiking, hunting, jogging and playing catch with balls or Frisbees. However, this boundless energy also means they can be a bit of a liability when it comes to running away- they have even been known to jump over 6ft fences.  Keep them close with a strong lead and a strong collar (or a harness) so you can keep a watchful eye!
