Chinchillas will chew everything and anything! Therefore, it's a good idea to keep them in a wire mesh cage which they definitely can't chew their way out of! Having lots of branches and cuttle-bone provides them with more appropriate chewing material. Toys to keep them entertained will also help. Chinchillas enjoy a dust bath regularly, which is how they keep their coats gleaming. Using specialised Chinchilla dust is essential because it mimics the dust of their natural environment.
