Day 2

We could tell that Rufus and Heidi loved their stay at Hotel Le Meurice – there was a real bounce in their stride as they strolled through its beautiful entrance and the Dali dining room every time we went in or out.

And they loved our room, especially the comfy dog beds provided by the hotel and the cool marble bathroom. The hotel staff were all super-friendly and kind to the terriers, and they left today with a lovely gift from the hotel – beautiful Le Meurice name tags engraved with their names! (See picture below.)

We were also sent some great Paris travel dog tips today by PetsPyjamas follower @MetroCityGirl and her dog Chanel, who seem to know all the best places in the city for people who love both shopping and their dogs.

We had time to quickly check out one of her recommendations, the Palais Royal Gardens, which is, as she said, a “beautiful shopping haven”. Rufus and Heidi loved the shade beneath the trees, and the gardens and fountain are lovely. She also sent us a very nice pic of Chanel, which we have tweeted on the @PetsPyjamas account.

Her travel tips for us mean that @MetroCityGirl is now in with a chance of winning the £250 prize in our competition. If you want to enter, send us a travel tip @PetsPyjamas with the hashtag #PPJterriersontour or email (more details and terms & conditions here). We have now left Paris and are on the way to Île de Ré. What should we look out for there? Where should we stay tonight?
