Echoing The Beatles iconic song from the 1960s – blind Jack Russell Glenn couldn’t get by without the help of his faithful friend Buzz, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who acts as his own personal guide dog.
Rescued from a sea tunnel in Hartlepool, Durham by Stray Aid – the inseparable duo are between the ages of nine and 10, and are sadly thought to have been abandoned because of their age.
Loveable Buzz helps Glenn – who is completely blind – on a daily basis. From leading Glenn on walks to helping him find his food and bed, Buzz is always by the Jack Russell’s side.
Sue Bielby, a worker at Stray Aid, said, “Buzz acts as Glenn’s eyes and it’s as simple as that. Glenn gets his confidence from Buzz.”
“If they are separated even for a few minutes they both bark and become distressed so they would need to have a loving home together.”
Both are currently staying at a rehoming centre run by Stray Aid in Coxhoe and are – of course – looking to be rehomed together.
