New portrait of Queen and her Corgis

Nicky Philipps' portrait of the Queen

Did you know that the Queen has owned more than 30 corgis during her reign, starting with Susan who was a present for her 18th birthday in 1944? Famous for having always owned Corgis, it seemed apt that when the Royal Mail commissioned Nicky Philipps to paint the Queen that he included her Corgis – and her two Dorgis. This fabulous picture of the Queen and her dogs will go on a first class stamp and we just love how adding her furry companions to the picture has given the piece real character.
