New York Fashion Week Trend Report

From runway to park – the trends your pet will be wearing come autumn

Shimmering brocades, iridescent metallics and smatterings of sequins caught the spotlight. This season is all about high shine, so accessorise your pet in sparkling collars and diamante tags.

The military trend is back. Think camouflage, earthy greens and tailoring for the most stylish way to work the trend. Puchi and Creature Clothes’ camo-printed toys and accessories will be perfect for fashion-conscious dogs come winter.

It’s all about touchy-feely fabrics for autumn/winter. Just ask Donna Karen and Phillip Lim, who sent fuzzy faux fur and velvet down the catwalk. Get your dog in on the action with Holly&Lil’s ponyski-effect collar or Mulberry’s faux fur-trimmed parka.

A classic camel coat has never felt so fresh, with the likes of Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan championing the piece made famous by Ali McGraw for fall. There’s lots for your pooch to choose from – a country tweed in the traditional hue, or a tan-coloured mac for rainy days.

So fresh and so clean! Follow the lead of Tibi and Helmut Land and brace the winter winds in sleek, creamy hues. We love Marco Morosini’s super-luxe white dog coats.
