Sky Sports presenter Millie Clode is a lover of shoes, adventure, gossip and sausage dogs. She is a rising star in the sports presenting world and will be covering the Olympics for Sky over the coming weeks. We caught up with Millie and her adorable miniature dachshund, Sizzles, 3, just before she starts her coverage of the Olympics. Millie lives in Battersea with her husband Kingsley and Sizzles.
Are you looking forward to the Olympics?
I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a once in a lifetime experience.
What will you be reporting on?
I always wanted to be a presenter so became involved in radio at University. After Uni, I entered a competition to win my own TV show. It was my first ever screen test and I got it! I have just been very lucky to have always worked since then.
What is your favourite sport?
Tennis. But I love it at work when we show pictures of the dog surfing championships in LA!
What breed is Sizzles?
How do you juggle your career with owning a pet?
The reason I first got a dog is because I don’t work normal office hours. I needed someone to play with in the day as most of my friends are at work. And because of my unusual hours I have plenty of time to play with Sizzles. When I am not around my husband looks after her.
Which are your favourite pet-friendly places?
All around South West London – Wimbledon, Battersea and Richmond, but most of all we just like cuddling on the sofa together.
What’s on your wish list for you and Sizzles at the moment?
The pink flamingo toy, sleeping bag with pouch and I love Ruby Rufus-Isaacs’ cashmere jumpers for the winter. Sizzles also needs a new bed – I love the Zen Union Jack beds.
What is your favourite area of PetsPyjamas?
Sizzles and I are both shopaholics so we love everything on the site.
Any pet friendly suggestions for Sunday Lunch?
I love the Phene in Chelsea – it’s very dog friendly – and the Builders Arms. But really anywhere that will let her in!
Questions for Sizzles, the Miniature Dachshund
How did you get your name?
I’m a sausage dog and Mummy says I look like I have been left on the barbecue for too long!
Do you have a favourite canine companion?
Yes – Millie’s sister has a Weimaraner called Rafiki. We love playing together on the beach in Devon.
What are your favourite products on the site?
I am a bling girl. I love the Swarovski Crystal Ice Collar, anything by Lily’s Kitchen and Ruby Rufus-Isaacs’ cream cashmere coat.
