Doggy Sunday at the Gaucho, London

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Doggy Sunday Easter Egg Hunt at Gaucho restaurant in Hampstead. PetsPyjamas has attended their fabulous Doggy Sunday events before in the form of our hard working mascots, Heidi and Rufus. However, while they were enjoying a well-earned break in the country, I called upon one of my family dogs, Otto, a German Wirehaired Pointer, to represent

It was Otto’s first time in the big smoke and oh what a wonderful time he had. Greeted by a red carpet – I was under no illusion that this star treatment was for me – staff welcomed Otto with cuddles and kisses and straight away took his lead from me and walked him through to their outdoor space where the Easter Egg Hunt was taking place.

With over 40 pooches attending the afternoon, there was a wonderful atmosphere with owners chatting away and sipping on cocktails while the dogs enjoyed the toys and obstacle course that had been put out for them. Despite interest from Brie, a beautiful French Bulldog and Dolly, a working Spaniel who had just relocated to the area from America, Otto was more interested in showing off to the other guests how many tennis balls he could fit in his mouth and how high he could jump.

Not forgetting us humans, Manager Jorge and his team treated us to a three course meal which included a tasty Argentinian steak and a delicious chocolate torte. However, the dogs certainly weren’t left out, with homemade chicken empanadas and plenty of nutritionist dog treats served in a personalised dog bowl. Each pet and their owner were given a lovely gift box which featured dog treats, a chicken empanada to take home and of course our Spring Edit.

It was a great afternoon of pet-friendly fun and we can’t wait to attend next month’s event. Thank you Jorge and everyone at Gaucho.
