{"id":17410,"date":"2014-03-05T11:05:50","date_gmt":"2014-03-05T10:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/blog\/?p=17410"},"modified":"2025-03-03T13:10:34","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T12:10:34","slug":"puppy-gets-stuck-in-car-engine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/blog\/puppy-gets-stuck-in-car-engine\/","title":{"rendered":"Puppy gets stuck in car engine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>After escaping from her owners\u2019 front garden, an intrepid three-month old puppy climbed up through the engine of her neighbour\u2019s car before becoming stuck.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/shop\/breed\/jack-russell-terrier\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Jack Russell<\/a>, called Betty Boop, then ended up travelling for 12 miles from Ordsall to Swinton in Greater Manchester in the Audi A4, unbeknownst to her neighbour Gavin Juliette.<\/p>\n<p>It was only once Gavin returned did he hear barking coming from his car, and was left stunned when he opened the bonnet and found the pup staring back at him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/trapped-puppy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17411 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/trapped-puppy.jpg\" alt=\"trapped puppy\" width=\"615\" height=\"410\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After informing Betty Boop\u2019s owner Gary James, both then hurriedly took the engine apart to free the trapped pooch, who remarkably was left unharmed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I first saw her in there I thought she was bound to be injured or badly burned &#8211; but, apart from being covered in oil and a bit shaky, she was fine,\u201d said Gary.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/trapped-puppy-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-17412 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/trapped-puppy-2.jpg\" alt=\"trapped puppy 2\" width=\"615\" height=\"409\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Betty Boop had managed to stand on a plastic shelf in the bonnet, but had got her head wedged between the pipework.<\/p>\n<p>Gavin said, \u201cshe\u2019s not the smallest dog and I still can\u2019t quite work out how it managed to get itself there. It\u2019s absolutely bizarre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI still don\u2019t get how she survived, with the heat in there and the fan spinning, but I\u2019m just glad for Gary and his family it was a happy
