His less-than-glamorous name doesn\u2019t portray the perfectly coiffed creature that he is, presented at the show with a hair-style Beyonc\u00e9 would be proud of. His pedigree moniker, Afterglow Maverick Sabre, is much more fitting.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17553 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/477480857.jpg\" alt=\"477480857\" width=\"463\" height=\"308\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The dog event of the year featured 194 different breeds, originating from over 45 different countries. There were strong performances from the Irish\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Wolfhound James, wire fox terrier King and the charismatic Pomeranian Colin, also dubbed a \u2018Jaffa orange on legs\u2019 by the commentators.\u00a0A snow white Samoyed called Dan the Man finished as the runner-up to Ricky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-17555 aligncenter\" style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/ANIMALS+Cru_67.jpg\" alt=\"ANIMALS+Cru_67\" width=\"270\" height=\"342\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17556 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/BiSOdMEIYAElrkA.jpg\" alt=\"BiSOdMEIYAElrkA\" width=\"424\" height=\"377\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The winner and his handler, Jason Lynn, were awarded the prestigious title after Ricky came top of the leader-board in the assessment for health, condition, coat, character, temperament and movement. Mr Lynn, from Preston, Lancashire, said: &#8220;I couldn&#8217;t have asked for anything more.
