Make sure that you prepare your dog physically before going on a long hike by taking them on long walks or jogs to get them into shape and so that they can handle\u00a0the distance. Remember to be realistic about the fitness of your dog and what they can achieve.<\/li>\n<li>Whether it is walking in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/travel\/nav\/dog-friendly-switzerland\" target=\"_blank\">Swiss Alps<\/a> of Zermatt or climbing the peaks of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/travel\/nav\/dog-friendly-cumbria\" target=\"_blank\">Lake District<\/a>, involving your pooch is a unique experience if it\u2019s not too hot.
