French Bulldog chases off bears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Embodying Mark Twain\u2019s motivational saying, \u201cIt&#8217;s not the size of the dog in the fight, it&#8217;s the size of the fight in the dog\u201d \u2013 20 lb <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/pets\/dogs\/breed-french-bulldog\/0\" target=\"_blank\">French Bulldog<\/a> Jules single-handedly chased off two bear cubs from her owner\u2019s front garden in Monrovia, California.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-26850 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-2-690x356.jpg\" alt=\"french bulldog jules and bears\" width=\"690\" height=\"356\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-2-690x356.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-2-270x140.jpg 270w, https:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-2.jpg 852w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Captured taking her guard dog duties very seriously on a surveillance camera, Jules charged at the two cubs \u2013 whose mother was reportedly sitting just out of range of the camera \u2013 and chased them up and down her owner\u2019s porch before they scampered off.<\/p>\n<p>At least one of the bears was believed to weigh around 100 lbs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PerOmnky0kA\" width=\"635\" height=\"350\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe blew me away,\u00a0couldn&#8217;t\u00a0believe that she turned into a Wolverine,\u201d said her owner David Hernandez who had installed the security cameras to keep an eye on his home.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jules-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter coyotes and deer all live in the foothills of Monrovia, and are occasionally known to venture into the residential neighbourhoods \u2013 more so since a recent wildfire has impacted the food supply in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The French Bulldog was rewarded for her bravery with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/pets\/d-g-shampoo-beauty\/d-grooming-bathing\/dogs\/0?&amp;view=grid\" target=\"_blank\">bath<\/a>, some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.petspyjamas.com\/pets\/d-treats\/dogs\/0\" target=\"_blank\">doggie treats<\/a> and lots of affection from her grateful and dumbfounded
