London Fashion Week has just begun so we got in touch with three of our favourite designers to chat about their work and how their designs are influenced by their furry friend…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tell us a little bit about your business.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started i+i almost 3 years ago after working in India for a London based jeweller. It is a bit of a clich\u00e9 to say that I wanted to create jewellery that I couldn\u2019t find elsewhere but it genuinely started by making pieces for myself that I wanted to wear and friends\/people I met asking for them.<\/p>\n

Also what are you doing for London Fashion Week?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are launching with Net-A-Porter at the beginning of October so we are busy getting ready for that.<\/p>\n

Tell us some more about the jewellery you design.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I design very delicate pieces that can complement every outfit. I like my jewellery to become an extension of the person wearing it, whether that be a single piece that you never take off, or layering them up to reflect your mood. It is feminine as it is so dainty, but with an edge to prevent it being too pretty.<\/p>\n

What’s your dog\u2019s name, breed and age. Tell us a little bit about how you came to buy\/rescue your dog.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My dog is a Maltese<\/a> terrier called Mowgli and he is 10-months old. My boyfriend bought him for me for my birthday in January, (however I had been planning it for quite some time, so there was some persuasion involved!) I had a Maltese growing up and I adore their temperament.<\/p>\n

What influence does your dog have over your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fundamentally Mowgli makes me so much happier and therefore I am infinitely more productive. I tend to take life and work very seriously; however, Mowgli helps to put things into perspective. I am sure this is what mothers say when they have children! I am so lucky to have him.<\/p>\n

Do you take your dog to the office\/into your studio and what effect do they have on office life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mowgli is with me 24 \/ 7. I take him everywhere except corporate office buildings! As Mowgli is a bit of handbag dog, a lot of people, particularly men, have preconceptions. However as soon as you spend some time with him, you can\u2019t not love him! He has won everyone around in the studio! Whenever someone is having a bad day, he cannot fail to brighten their mood.<\/p>\n

Where do you take Mowgli? Can you recommend your favourite cafes, restaurants and holiday destinations?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our favourite place to eat is Farmacy in Notting Hill. They welcome him like an old friend! Down to Earth on High St Ken is also very dog friendly. We went on holiday to France this year which was great as dogs are allowed everywhere. Paris was especially good!<\/p>\n

What are you doing for London Fashion Week?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

We are showing our SS17 collection on the Future British stand for Fashion Week sponsored by Boden and the British Fashion Council.<\/p>\n

Tell us a little bit about your business and designs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started the business two years ago. We create luxury footwear with a playful twist and have recently created an exclusive range for Selfridges which will be available from October.<\/p>\n

What’s your dog\u2019s name, breed and age. Tell us a little bit about how you came to buy\/rescue your dog.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lulu is now two-years old and it was love at first sight when I first saw her at a Dogs Trust event at the George in Mayfair. PetsPyjamas were providing prizes for the event and I went along to help out.<\/p>\n

She was the most adorable Cavachon puppy and had the sweetest expression in her eyes. Hannah from Dogs Trust told me she had been bought as a present and was unwanted. I later fired off an email to the Dogs Trust, not really rating my chances but they later contacted me to say she was mine! I was overjoyed.<\/p>\n

What influence does your dog have over your work? <\/strong><\/p>\n

She really inspires me. We have even designed a collection\u00a0of Pez shoes featuring\u00a0Poodle, Hound, Corgi and Cat designs.<\/p>\n

Do you take your dog to the office\/into your studio and what effect do they have on office life?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, she comes everywhere with me. I love having her around and so does everyone else in the office.\u00a0 She always wants to sit on my chair with me. She is so much fun and makes everyone laugh with her antics.<\/p>\n

Where do you take your dog? Can you recommend your favourite cafes, restaurants and holiday destinations?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every day she comes with me to C Press<\/em>, a gorgeous cafe just near my flat and she also loves Hally’s<\/em> in Parsons Green. We’re both looking forward to the opening of new pet-friendly restaurant Nutbourne in Battersea, London at the end of the month (September 2016) by our close friend Ollie. He also owns restaurant Rabbit on Kings Road.<\/p>\n

Lulu absolutely loves coming on holidays with me! I have taken her on two PetsPyjamas holidays \u2013 to Soho Farmhouse\u00a0in the Cotswolds<\/a>\u00a0and to The Spread Eagle<\/a> in Midhurst.\u00a0 My boyfriend and I are planning to take her with us to the beautiful Sheepscombe House<\/a> in Gloucestershire in two weeks time which we booked through PetsPyjamas for my birthday.\u00a0Holidays aren’t the same without Lulu!<\/p>\n

Tell us a little bit about your collaboration with PetsPyjamas<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wanted to create a great range of useful pieces that dogs and their owners would love and enjoy. I also wanted to reflect the personality and vibrant, playful aesthetic of House of Holland.<\/p>\n

What’s your dog\u2019s name, breed and age. Tell us a little bit about how you came to buy\/rescue your dog.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I always grew up with dogs in the house and the first dog we had was a Labrador<\/a> when I was about eight years old. However, Peggy is my first dog of my own and not a family pet. We got her three years ago and she completes our home and family perfectly!<\/p>\n

Peggy is a French Bulldog<\/a>. Before we got her we researched their temperament and their personality and their needs and a Frenchie felt like a good fit with our lifestyle and our home. We also think they are adorable and the perfect size for our city lifestyle.<\/p>\n

What influence does Peggy have over your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since adding Peggy to my family, my design tastes and needs have extended beyond my own wardrobe and I have a whole new member of the family who needs her own accessories.<\/p>\n

Do you take Peggy to the office\/into your studio and what effect do they have on office life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I take her to the office every single day and she commands more attention in meetings than I ever will.<\/p>\n

Where do you take your dog? Can you recommend your favourite cafes, restaurants and holiday destinations<\/a>?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We took Peggy on her first holiday to France<\/a> last year. We stayed with my mum for a few days and then went to a bed and breakfast for a couple of nights. She wasn\u2019t a fan of the car but she loved being out of the city for two whole weeks with nothing but open space to run around in all day long!<\/p>\n

We take Peggy to A Little Bit of What You Fancy<\/em> on Kingsland Road in East London which has amazing food and they welcome dogs. We also go to the Empress pub as it\u2019s our local pub in Victoria Park, Hackney. Peggy\u2019s favourite place is Victoria Park; chasing the ducks, stealing children\u2019s footballs and paddling in the memorial fountains are at the top of her hobbies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
