With one of the longest stretches of coastline in England with over 300 dog-friendly beaches in Cornwall you and your four-legged friend will love it here! Most of the beaches are long and sandy providing the perfect setting for hours of fun for your dog running across the beach and splashing in the sea. One of the best choices for a dog-friendly holiday, Cornwall never disappoints and with beautiful headlands and estuaries there is a lot to explore. Here are five of our favourite beaches, open year round with PetsPyjamas\u2019 dog-friendly cottages in Cornwall as well as hotels all close at hand.<\/p>\n

Daymer Bay Beach, Rock<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the jewels in North Cornwall\u2019s crown and one the most famous beaches, it lies between the beaches of Polzeath and Rock. With a gorgeous stretch of sheltered, sandy beach shaped in an arch it has safe water and rugged sand dunes. Take a walk with your dog to Rock or Polzeath or walk north to Trebetherick point or climb up to Carn Brea Hill for a stunning 360-degree view from the top that inspired the late Poet Laureate John Betjeman.<\/p>\n

Bedruthan Steps,\u00a0Newquay<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Another beach we love is Bedruthan Steps. Access the beach via a steep set of stairs cut into the cliff but when you get to the beach you are rewarded with a golden stretch of sand. Walk up to the top of the cliffs to enjoy wonderful views and dramatic scenery looking over Bedruthan Steps and enjoy fabulous walks with your dog along the coastal path. At the top of the cliffs is a dog-friendly National Trust caf\u00e9 where you can reward yourself with a Cornish cream tea plus water bowls and treats for the dog.<\/p>\n

Watergate Bay, Newquay<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Expect surfers and plenty of other coastal canines both enjoying the sand and the sea on this stretch of the Cornish coast \u2013 with a gorgeous sandy beach with a backdrop of awe-inspiring cliffs. Take your dog for a low-tide walk across the sands and the coastal path to Trevelgue Head with fabulous views guaranteed. And after your walk with Fido, make sure you visit the dog-friendly Beach Hut Caf\u00e9 and the Watergate Bay Hotel for a welcome break from all the fun and excitement.<\/p>\n

Sandymouth Beach, Bude<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A fabulous dog-friendly beach on the north end of Bude, this pebble beach is a particular favourite with families and their dogs and when the tide ebbs it reveals a 2km of sand which you and your four-legged friend can walk along and takes you all the way into Bude itself. With high towering cliffs and a waterfall and rockpools to explore this is one of our absolute favourite beaches. There\u2019s a National Trust car park and caf\u00e9 \u00a0open at the top and a steep winding path to the beach but it\u2019s well worth the effort.<\/p>\n

Mexico Towans Beach, St Ives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This glorious dog-friendly beach faces north west towards St Ives and is backed by sand dunes, known as the Towans, and stretches for four-miles from the mouth of the Hayle Estuary to the lighthouse at Godrevy Point. Perfect for coast-loving canines to enjoy ball games and swimming in the sea. After lots of fun playing on the beach stop by the Blue Bay Caf\u00e9, nestled in the dunes of St Ives Bay, for a warming drink and a slice of homemade cake.<\/p>\n
