Walkies: one of your dog\u2019s favourite times of the day; and come rain or shine, it\u2019s ours too. As much as we love our usual dog walking routine, around the fields, up to the park or around the neighbourhood, it\u2019s always good to discover new places. We\u2019re packing up our bags and exploring some of our favourite dog-friendly walks in the UK, and don\u2019t worry if you\u2019re not close by, we\u2019ve got a selection of wonderful dog-friendly places to stay nearby.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cawsands to Whitsands Bay, Cornwall\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

This 5.2 mile walk is perfect for those visiting Cornwall on a staycation. It\u2019s a delightful walk that is sure to give your dog plenty of exercise, with lots of dog-friendly beaches and pubs to pass along the way. From Cawsand to Rame Head, the walk is fairly easy and level, however, there are some steep descents between Rame Head and Whitsands Bay. <\/span><\/p>\n

This lovely walk takes in both sides of the Rame peninsular with picturesque views, and you may even spot migrant birds during spring and autumn, including gannets, divers, harriers, skuas and possibly even honey buzzards. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not local to the area, then there are plenty of\u00a0<\/span>dog-friendly places to stay in Cornwall<\/span><\/a>, just don\u2019t forget your\u00a0<\/span>dog\u2019s favourite bed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to cosy up on after a long afternoon walk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caerphilly Mountain, Wales<\/b><\/h3>\n

For those that want to venture out and stretch their legs, then the circular route up to the summit of Caerphilly Mountain and a walk across the common might be the perfect walk with your dog. It\u2019s a convenient but short walk with the 271-metre summit offering spectacular views across the town and Caerphilly castle. <\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s lots of off lead and on <\/span>lead<\/span><\/a> areas, and you\u2019ll meet lots of other dog owners here too! There are a few different paths to choose from, and there is also a snack bar next to the car park on arrival, which is dog-friendly. Dogs love a change in scenery just like us, and maybe this is the perfect time to book a visit to the beautiful <\/span>South Wales<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

We can\u2019t talk about our favourite dog-friendly walks without mentioning the famous Hundred Acre Woods from Winnie-the-Pooh. A. A. Milnes lived just north of Ashwood Forest, which he based the fictional land on. There are actually five hundred acres of woodland to explore, making this the perfect place to take the dogs for a long walk. It\u2019s also great for kids and families, exploring the land as Christopher Robin would have. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dogs are very much welcome at Ashwood Forest, but they do ask you to respect the livestock and birds that are around. There are lots of lovely dog-welcoming hotels and cottages in East Sussex<\/a>; just pick one, pack your suitcase and your handy <\/span>dog walking bag<\/span><\/a>, which has plenty of space for poo bags, treats, a ball and a collapsible water bowl!

Windermere, Cumbria, Lake District<\/b><\/h3>\n

The largest natural lake in the Lake District National Park and England, Windermere is a long thin lake at 10.5 miles long and one mile wide. There are plenty of trails and walks in the Lake District, with lots of places for dogs to paddle! <\/span><\/p>\n

The lakeshore path from Wray Castle to Claife Viewing Station offers stunning views across the lake, and you can pop into the dog-friendly caf\u00e9 in the Courtyard, with lots of tasty dog treats on the menu as well as a refreshing water bowl. <\/span><\/p>\n

Wagging tails at the ready for this dog-friendly beach! Perfect for dogs that love the beach and love the woodland walks too. There\u2019s a variety of walking routes you can take via woodlands to reach the long sandy beach. It is a fair walk to the beach, as the nearest parking is a little while away, but the scenic route is worth it, and out of season, it\u2019s often deserted, leaving you plenty of space to roam or throw your dog’s favourite ball or frisbee around. <\/span><\/p>\n
