Our guest Pet Inspectors Daisy and Lemmy recently took a trip to two of the De Vere Group’s wonderful dog-friendly hotels, at Cotswolds Water Park and Tortworth Court in Gloucestershire.

How far are the dog-friendly rooms from the outside? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Each room has its own balcony which opens up to a communal decking area, overlooking the stunning lake. It was super easy for us to take Daisy out for a quick run around – the balcony door opens out onto the decking which you can follow round to a grass area on the banks of the lake.

Are the grounds enclosed? Can pets be let off the lead?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The grounds aren’t necessarily enclosed – you have to be careful with the lake as water-loving pups may fancy a quick dip and jump right in! Dogs are advised to remain on their leads in the grounds.<\/p>\n

What doggy extras (dog bed\/bowl\/treats) were provided? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

The hotel kindly provided a dog bed, bowl and doggy treats which Daisy loved! These were all in the room waiting for us upon our arrival. The hotel staff also offered us another doggy treat when we walked through reception for evening walkies!<\/p>\n

Can you dine with your dog? <\/strong><\/h4>\n


<\/span>Yes, furry friends aren’t allowed in the main restaurant (the Brasserie) but we were able to dine together in the lovely bar area, which had a really chilled vibe. There were plenty of seating options, Daisy just laid down beside our table and received a lot of attention from the hotel guests! At breakfast time the chef kindly offered Daisy a sausage which she devoured in seconds.


Is the same menu served in the dog-friendly dining area?<\/strong><\/p>\n


<\/strong>Yes, you can order from exactly the same menu in the bar which we thought was a huge plus.<\/p>\n

Where are dogs allowed in public areas?<\/strong><\/h4>\n


<\/strong>Daisy was allowed everywhere with us apart from the restaurant and the spa.<\/p>\n



Were the staff friendly?<\/strong><\/h4>\n


<\/strong>The staff were so welcoming to both us and Daisy. They made a huge fuss of her on arrival, getting lots of strokes! The hotel manager made a point of coming out whilst we were eating our breakfast to say hello to Daisy. She was a very popular girl! The lovely staff at reception also gave us a leaflet of the best dog walks in the area which was super useful.
