So, we’ve sniffed out some of the very best dog-friendly pubs<\/a> in the Cotswolds where your canine companion is as welcome as you.

1. The Farmer’s Dog<\/h2>\n

Jeremy Clarkson\u2019s pub, The Farmer\u2019s Dog, in Burford exudes the kind of dog-friendly charm you would expect from Clarkson\u2014 a renowned dog lover. He has transformed the former Windmill into a Cotswold destination pub, where pups are just as welcome as people. The atmosphere is rustic with exposed beams, hearty banter, a lively marquee known as The Farmer\u2019s Puppy<\/em> and a menu sourced from British farms with the Sunday carvery being a top draw.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2. The Porch House, Stow-on-the-Wold<\/h2>\n

Nestled in the heart of Stow-on-the-Wold, The Porch House is a wonderful place to recharge and relax with your furry friends. Billed as the oldest inn in England with beginnings dating back to 947 AD, you\u2019d never guess thanks to its stylish, 21st-century interior. All the dishes are pub classics but with a Porch House pizzazz \u2013 we recommend their signature burgers. Often filled with other doggies passing through, your furry friend will be able to rub noses with locals as well as other canine travellers. Ask at the bar for the Stow Walks pamphlet. 3. The Fuzzy Duck<\/h2>\n

Originally an 18th-century coaching inn, The Fuzzy Duck is the gem of Armscote. Within this pub, you and your furry friend can dine in comfort and luxury. Dogs can accompany you to the bar area or the garden and will be given water as well as doggy biscuits and pig\u2019s ears to keep them happy. A great rest stop for families too, children and dogs can play in the secure pub garden. Fancy a brisk stroll through the country after lunch? No problem \u2013 the pub has its own Hunter wellington boot loan service! Just grab a pair of boots if it’s muddy!<\/p>\n

4. The Kingham Plough, Chipping Norton<\/h2>\n

5. The Royal Oak, Tetbury<\/h2>\n

This refurbished 17th-century inn is a real community venue; always abuzz with local folk as well as city visitors. Super dog-friendly, your furry friend is welcome to sit with you whilst you drink and dine in the bar area. There is also a secure garden and the staff will happily offer you advice on the top dog walks in the area. The house favourite is the Real Ale Battered Fish of the Day. Even if you’re not a meat or fish eater, their vegan menu is packed full of fabulous choices too.<\/p>\n

6. The Wild Rabbit, Kingham<\/h2>\n

Formerly the Tollgate Inn, Lady Bamford, founder of Daylesford Organic Farmshops, reinvented this traditional English pub into a stylish dog-friendly place to eat, drink and sleep. Your beloved canine companion is welcome to dine with you in the bar area. There is also plenty of space for them to stretch their legs in the front and rear gardens. Word on the street is there’s a jar of dog biscuits on the bar too! With its connection to Lady Bamford, you can expect all The Wild Rabbit\u2019s dishes to be made from nothing but locally sourced, organic food. Set right in the heart of the pretty village of Kingham, it makes a great after-lunch stroll with your pet.<\/p>\n

7. The Village Pub, Barnsley<\/h2>\n

A favourite haunt, The Village Pub is everything you\u2019d expect of a dog-friendly British pub with added style. Four-legged friends will receive a warm welcome and can join you in the bar area for drinks and food. There is a wonderful sheltered back courtyard with outdoor heaters \u2013 perfect for cooler summer evenings. Combining the best of English pub food with contemporary touches, the menu changes with the seasons.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plus, the outside area is great for playtime with your pooch. Stand or seat yourself by the fireplace bar during the chillier weather for a truly cosy spot.
