Lovely hotel with beautiful grounds . Excellent front of house and restaurant staff. Great food. Amazing breakfast. Will be back again.
Pleasant Staff, Food disappointing and Room was very disappointing
The Public rooms are lovely and the staff are friendly and efficient..
Our room was very disappointing, huge bed which meant there was only room for a bedside table on one side. No wardrobe or drawers, just narrow shelves and a small rail ( made me think of a Travelodge)
But the biggest problem was the very close proximity of a towering and very thick hedge which meant the room was dark and felt quite oppressive.
Breakfast choices were good. A hot and cold buffet, however the hot food was generally not hot enough..
Dinner menu in the restaurant was for us quite restrictive, Pizza and Burgers are not our thing, and the other choices for us were quite limited. I would normally check out menus before booking but sadly on this occasion I did not.

Pleasant hotel set in lovely grounds
The staff at Bowden Hall are exceptional. They are welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. The bedroom was spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an overall very pleasant stay in a lovely location.
There was a good choice of breakfast food. The hotel is let down by the poor quality produce and cooking in the restaurant. The food was not always as described on the menu.The restaurant staff were efficient and lovely and complaints were dealt with promptly.

The Cotswolds is known for being super dog welcoming, and Bowden Hall is perfectly located between Gloucester and Cheltenham. There are a variety of walking trails and attractions nearby the property. For example, the historic Painswick Village and Rococo Gardens are just a paw-print away from you. You'll also be just 3 miles from Gloucester railway station, which is super convenient if you're looking to travel further afield with your furry friend. But whilst in Gloucester, make sure to take in the sites including the magnificent cathedral, and enjoy a shopping trip at Gloucester Quays!
