Amazing relaxing very special break.
The Retreat East was perfect, the staff were lovely and so helpful and friendly. The place was spotlessly clean and the food was amazing. We don t want to leave!

How to get here
Retreat East is set in rural Suffolk, on a cow parsley-lined country lane. Ipswich is 20 minutes by car, and the coast is within driving distance for jaunts to Southwold and Aldeburgh.
By Air: Stansted, an hour and ten minutes' drive away.
Train: Ipswich Station, 20 minutes drive from the hotel
By Car: Retreat East is just off the A14, and has parking and charge points for electric cars.

Nestled in the heart of Suffolk, there are walks galore just a pawprint away during your dog-friendly holiday at Retreat East. Simply pick up a map at the front desk and from there, you can start exploring your favourite route together.
The beautiful seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are nearby, for strolls along the beach and splashes in the sea. Stroll through the fields towards the village of Coddenham, the perfect spot to pick up any supplies you need, or treat yourself to a cup of tea and a sweet treat at the community shop. Or, how about an adventure in the picturesque ‘mere' , a vast- covering over 60,000 acres with various islands and inlets. The Meare comprises many little islands, all named by J.M Barrie, author of Peter Pan and visitors can take to one of the many little boats available to hire and drift between fairytale settings such as the pirate's lair and Wendy's house!
Snape Maltings sits on the bank of the River Alde, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just six miles from Aldeburgh. Visit their shop for dreamy interiors and homemade produce.
Ipswich is just under 20 minutes' drive away from Retreat East, and Woodbridge, a pretty market town is also nearby on the River Deben, for wonderful strolls with your canine companion.
