Situated in small, charming village of Alverstoke in the borough of Gosport. Windbrake House is just a 10-minute walk from the village where there is a convenience shop, a post office, a Chinese restaurant and take-away, fish and chip shop, hairdressers and gift shop. There is a south facing garden to the front of the property, and the owner thoughtfully provides complimentary toiletries. There is an excellent bistro on the front at Stokes Bay which serves home cooked food at reasonable prices with big portions!

There is always something to see at Stokes Bay. The Solent, between the Isle of Wight and Stokes Bay, is used by all manner of boats, ships and water sports including Cowes Week, naval reviews, cruise liners, America’s Cup, P1 Powerboat racing, Fast Net departure and American aircraft carriers, to name a few!

Stoke’s Bay also has two cafés as well as a wine bar and a free splash park for children. There is also a leisure centre and ice-rink a short drive away. It takes 7 minutes to drive to Gosport harbour front where there is a long-stay car park (at cost) and with a return passenger ferry ticket across Portsmouth Harbour you can soon spend a quality day at either the naval dockyard or at Gunwharf Quays, a retail outlet with many designer stores, restaurants, bowling alley and multi-screen cinema and Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower, both located close to the ferry terminal.
From Portsmouth Harbour there are fabulous views to be enjoyed on a promenade to Southsea and Old Portsmouth where you can enjoy excellent pubs beside the fish market whilst watching the fishing boats or catch the hovercraft to the Isle of Wight. From the Portsmouth side you can also take the car or go as a passenger to the Isle of Wight with Wightlink Ferries or take a harbour tour as part of the dockyard visit or from Gunwharf Quays.

Norden House is a beautiful, detached Georgian farmhouse and is the ideal location for you and your family or friends to get together. There is a spacious dining room for everyone to have dinner together, and a large living area which can be split into two by closing the French doors between. The downstairs bedroom has facilities for the less mobile and an en-suite wet room. Upstairs are four double bedrooms and two twin rooms, all of which are also en-suite.

Located within the Norden Farm Estate, which is a working farm open to the public, is a well-stocked farm shop where you can buy all your essentials, as well as local produce. Norden House is situated just outside of the village of Corfe Castle, known as the gateway to the Purbecks. This pretty village offers a pub and a variety of local shops; it is also known for the National Trust Site featuring the 100-year-old ruins of Corfe Castle. You can take a steam train from the village to the seaside town of Swanage with its sandy beaches, fish and chip shops and beachfront arcade.
There are many days out nearby including Bovington Tank Museum, Durlston Country Park and Monkey World. You can visit the UNESCO Heritage Jurassic Coast with the popular destinations such as Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. There are also fantastic coastal walks with breathtaking views, and if you search in the right places, you may find a fossil or two. It is the perfect holiday home for your celebrations. Set deep in the beautiful Cornish countryside, this Grade II listed, detached barn conversion is a real escape from the crowds, whilst being less than 3 miles to some of the county’s best beaches - most notably Crantock, Holywell Bay and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Gannel estuary in Newquay.
The area is full of tourist attractions, both man-made and natural. Amongst the best are Crealy Adventure Park, Lapps Valley Steam Railway, Dairyland, Newquay Zoo, National Trust owned Trerice House and Gardens, through to the beautiful beaches of Newquay (of which there are over 8), the dunes at Holywell Bay and Perranporth and the tranquil Gannel Estuary. Horse riding, deep sea fishing trips, kayaking and sightseeing trips are all available in and around Newquay. The famous Fistral Beach provides everything you need for that quintessential ingredient of any beach holiday, crabbing and rock pooling, followed by a beach barbecue as the sun sets out to sea. Just a few miles up the coast you will find Watergate Bay, home to a watersports centre, plus a mile of golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs that make this area so unique.
Further along the coast road will bring you to Padstow, home to the gastronomic empire of Rick Stein including his fish and chip shop, where you have to get there early to avoid the queues. Padstow, with its quaint working harbour and narrow cobbled streets that all gravitate back the harbour, are awash with craft and gift shops, galleries and cafés and a real must for all that visit the area. The Camel Trail starts here and bike hire is plentiful at the start. The Eden project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Ives, Port Isaac, home to TV’s ’Doc Martin’, Fowey, and Truro, the county capital are all easily reached from Trescowthick and are all a must to enjoy the diverse aspects of this historic county.
