Haven Hall on the southeast side of the Isle of Wight offers a picturesque and luxury escape for both human and canine guests.

The property features a split level, open plan living and dining area, each with bi-fold doors opening out onto patio areas, affording stunning sea views, with gardens front and back. The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. Mews Cottage is just a few steps from the main street, with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and Tintagel Castle, the mythical home of King Arthur. There is also a good bus serivce in Tintagel so you have the option of leaving the car. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church. Enjoying uninterrupted views of the award-winning Mawgan Porth beach, this fantastic beach house is surrounded by a third of an acre of beautifully kept gardens with a large, sea facing, sun trap decking area, overlooking gently sloping lawns and a pretty stream that trickles down to the sea below. Over the past year (2022), the house has been renovated to the highest standards by one of the country’s leading interior designers and offers plenty of living space all benefitting from exceptional sea views and floor to ceiling sliding doors leading to a large decking area. The large circular fireplace makes for cosy evenings during the Autumn and Winter months. The brand-new handmade kitchen is well supplied with all creature comforts from a juicer to a selection of coffee machines, including a Nespresso. A door leads into a separate TV room with a big corner sofa, both with fabulous sea views and door to the terrace. Three ground floor bedrooms, ome with chandelier, two with those stunning views. A beautiful glass and oak staircase leads from the entrance hall up to the first floor where you will find three more bedrooms; a double bedroom with en-suite shower room; a large twin bedroom with large en-suite shower room, and one with a TV and sofa bed which enjoys the best views of all.

The beach is just a 5-minute walk away from the garden gate. Off the drive, there is a lawned area and to the side of the house a heated outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The equipment store has a range of children’s wetsuits and storage for boards. Once cleaned off, you can luxuriate in the state-of-the-art Aspen and Spruce spa with a sauna, experiential shower plus cold water bucket for the brave. Situated mid-way between Padstow and Newquay, Mawgan Porth offers you a beautiful west facing beach, stunning scenery, wondrous walks, superb surfing, an amazing variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s taste and pocket, including a cosy pub, seafood restaurant, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance of Blue Seas. This two bedroom beach front lodge is located in Seasalter, Whitstable with stunning sea views from the back of the house. The wild, coastal garden (with secure gate and Hazel fencing for your dogs) leads on to the beach garden, with fire pit and Adirondack chairs, perfectly angled for star gazing.
Seasalter is a popular holiday destination due to the long stretches of beach and lovely walks and cycle routes along the coast.
Thyme and Tide, renovated in 2022 to a very good standard, is the ideal property for family holidays or just chilling out with the dogs. With great original artwork, many pieces sourced locally, comfortable slouchy couches and a large dining area for entertaining. The lodge is a home from home.
The village of Seasalter can be found on the north coast of Kent, facing the Isle of Sheppey across the mouth of the River Swale. It is located five miles north of historic Canterbury, between Whitstable and Faversham.
Seasalter, as it name implies, was an important centre for the production of salt as far back as the Iron Age and it was raided by Vikings due to its prosperity. By 1086 it was recorded in the Domesday Book as belonging to the "kitchen of the Archbishop" of Canterbury. At the western end of the village on the Faversham Road the local pub is like a welcoming lighthouse as visitors approach across the flat marshes. There has been an inn there since 1642. A sweet, little terraced cottage, originally a miner’s cottage, situated in the village of Loftus, a couple of miles from Staithes. With a wood burner and great valley views, this characterful and charming Yorkshire cottage has been lovingly renovated in 2018 to a high standard.

The village of Loftus has good amenities, including three pubs, a Gin palace with micro-brewery, local grocery shops, bakery and an award winning bookshop stocking plenty of local authors and gifts. In the ‘Iron Valley’ of Skinningrove you’ll find secluded beaches and The Tom Leonard Mining Museum.

Enjoy the fishing port of Whitby, with its winding cobbled streets, famous abbey and wonderful fish and chips, or explore the spectacular coastline and dramatic North York Moors. The area surrounding this Yorkshire cottage offers a wealth of attractions including the steam railway at Grosmont, the pretty market towns of Pickering and Helmsley and stately homes and gardens such as Castle Howard. It is set in glorious countryside and just a short distance from the famous open air Minack Theatre, Porthcurno Beach, the wide white sandy beach of Sennen and the Legendary Lands End. It’s a great spot for exploring the delights of West Cornwall, including the picturesque valley at Lamorna Cove, the quaint harbour and village of Mousehole, plus the fishing harbour at Newlyn.
The bustling town of Penzance and the historic town of Marazion, home of St Michaels Mount which rises from the sea like a fairytale castle, can be reached on foot by causeway at low tide and small ferry at high tide. The area is a popular walking destination with extensive scenic coastal pathways. The marshes at Marazion and Hayle Estuary attract wildlife and bird watchers from around the world. Locally, you can find cycle trails, sub-tropical gardens, tea rooms and art galleries, including the Tate and Barbara Hepworth Museum at St Ives.
Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth to St Ives or take a day trip to the beautiful Isles of Scilly from nearby Lands End airport or the Scillonian Ferry from Penzance. Return to The Bunker and relax on the patio with an aperitif before heading off to take in an evening performance at the Minack Theatre.
