Offering private parking and beautiful gardens, this spacious property perfectly accommodates family or a friends’ reunion.
The ground floor is fitted with beautiful oak parquet flooring. At the front a south facing living room with bay window takes advantage of the views to Beamsley Beacon and is comfortably furnished with a traditional fireplace and cosy wood burner. There is a second snug area, the perfect place to sit and relax while watching your favourite movies on the supersize TV. The beautiful light filled kitchen features a handmade kitchen, electric range cooker, quartz worktops and a Belfast sink. The large island with stools is the perfect focal point to sit and chat while the chef rustles up the food. There is a seating area and large dining table which look out over the rear terrace and views beyond, particularly lovely in summer with the French doors open. There is a separate boot/utility room with a washer/dryer. Upstairs are four bedrooms, all with far reaching views and beautifully furnished with high quality mattresses, toppers and bedding, ensuring a good night’s sleep. There are two en-suite bedrooms, a family bathroom all with underfloor heating, fluffy towels and complimentary local organic soap.
Externally there is plenty of opportunity to sit and relax and soak up the views, with a pretty cottage garden to the front and a large patio area which wraps around the house to meet the raised terrace at the back. Set with table, chairs and a parasol, this is the perfect spot looking across open fields towards the Bolton Abbey Estate.
Out and about there is an abundance of things to do. Meadowcroft is within strolling distance of picturesque Bolton Abbey village with post office, village store and tea shops. Here you will find a renowned brasserie and bar, perfect if you are looking for somewhere to dine for that special occasion.
Bolton Abbey is a 30,000 acre estate. The 12th-century, Augustinian Bolton Priory is located here and is a popular tourist spot. The surrounding area is open to the public with spectacular scenery and dozens of walks. The River Wharfe flows through the area, including The Strid, which is a narrow gorge less than 2 metres across in some places.
If you’re looking for activities, there’s an abundance of walks for all abilities from the doorstep. The area is popular with cyclists and mountain bikers. You will find golf in nearby Addingham, Ilkley and Skipton, and horse riding further up the Dales in beautiful Kilnsey. A visit to the local steam railway, petting farm and American diner/ice cream parlour are all firm favourites with all the family.
Ideally situated on the A59, giving easy access to the pretty spa towns of Ilkley and Harrogate, with stylish boutique shops and the famous Betty’s Cafe and Tea Rooms. Skipton is just over 6 miles away, the gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park, and people travel for miles to visit this charming market town. For coastal walking, the Cornish cliffs allow walkers to take in the invigorating Atlantic air and enjoy incredible ocean vistas. This area of Cornwall is rich in historic homes and gardens including the world famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan -a restored Victorian masterpiece that was lost to the world for many years and is forever linked with the village of Mevagissey on the south coast. There are many other gardens of interest including Caerhays, Tregahan and Trelissick on the Roseland Peninsula. The south coast also has many outstanding beaches, cliff walks, secluded coves and historic seafaring towns such as Falmouth and Fowey which are within easy reach of Prideaux. Fowey, renowned as the home of Daphne du Maurier, a royal yacht club and annual regatta, is within 5 miles and has plenty of restaurants, excellent pubs, cafes, galleries and shops. From here a boat can be taken along the coast and to maybe catch sight of dolphins in the bay. Sea fishing trips, kayaking and sailing can all be enjoyed from Fowey.
