Or, if you like more of a challenge, you can try the Langdale Pikes and the Fairfield Horseshoe. Locally there is a pub and hotel which provides great food and locally produced ales. For lake lovers, you are only 2½ miles from Lake Windermere with the famous steamers offering pleasure trips to Bowness and lakeside on a regular timetable. For the big kids in the family, you’re not too far from Go Ape at Grizedale Forest, a high rope adventure course for thrillseekers. The towns of Ambleside, Bowness and Windermere are all easily accessible and offer an abundance of restaurants, shops and bars.
