There are some great golf courses here along with super walks in the Den of Alyth, a wooded glen on the outskirts of the town. A few miles beyond is the bustling market town of Blairgowrie with its good selection of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Heading west, enjoy a scenic route to the popular town of Pitlochry with its theatre, shops and fish ladder. In the winter months try your hand at skiing at Glenshee, just 20 miles away, or travel a little further and enjoy the stunning scenery of Braemar. Golf, horse riding, hill walking and cycling are all available in abundance in this lovely area.

Renowned for its soft fruit, there are plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby showcasing local produce, and a good range of shops locally and further afield in Dundee and Perth. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of H.M Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and the Pictish Stone Museum are well worth a visit and the cottage is within half an hour of the Cairngorms National Park. The ski slopes at Glenshee are a short drive and Pitlochry is within easy reach. Golfers have plenty of courses to choose from including Rosemount and Carnoustie, or explore the clean sandy beaches strung out along the east coast. Beach 19 miles. Dundee is a 20-minute drive away and offers a wider range of shops and is home to the V&A museum, Dundee Contemporary Arts and the Discovery and Verdant Works. There is a small airport with flights to and from London City and Belfast City. The Sidlaws is the perfect location to base yourself for exploring the local and surrounding area or just sitting back in the evening and enjoy your magnificent surroundings.
