    Lying between the Montrose Basin and Brechin, adjoining the River Southesk, Kinnaird Estate has been in the owners’ family since 1400 and covers some 7,000 acres of low lying land. There is a huge variety of wildlife to be seen, including red squirrels, woodpeckers, owls and ospreys, whilst the River Southesk is home to salmon and even freshwater pearls. Within the immediate grounds of the castle there are many paths laid out for guests, leading to follies and fine views on the way to the river and estate lake. Enjoy a barbecue or a game of tennis on the private court, or take a leisurely cycle on one of the many quiet roads which cross through the estate.
    The owner can provide catering packs for the first evening and first morning on request, including a breakfast pack (£10) or a dinner pack (£15). The owner will leave coffees, teas, cereals, farmhouse bread, butter, marmalade and jams, together with fruit and yogurt in the kitchen, along with bacon and eggs.
