The historic port of Arbroath is just 5 miles away where you can buy fresh and smoked fish daily. A golfers paradise, as well as the famous championship course there are many other golf courses in the area – St Andrews is within a short drive of the town. The area has much else to offer including excellent beaches and a large selection of castles and country houses, notably Glamis Castle.

For aviation and military enthusiasts, a visit to Montrose Air Station Heritage Centre is an absolute ‘must’, which showcases the fascinating and pioneering history of the first military airfield to be established in Great Britain.
Further afield, there are many attractions and places of interest. If you enjoy walking, whether it be through the glens or along the coast, then this area does not disappoint, with many trails available nearby. Every autumn, watch the stunning spectacle of thousands of pink footed geese arriving from Scandinavia to spend the winter here. For the more energetic, there is a great cycle path network in the area allowing visitors to explore the countryside. For walking enthusiasts the 5 Glens of Esk, Clova, Glenisla, Glenprosen and Glen Lethnot are within very easy reach; all have their own magic.
