Barnstaple has a theatre, cinema and leisure activities, and places of interest including the Museum of North Devon, Pannier Market, 14th-century St Anne’s Chapel and 18th-century Queen Anne’s Walk.

    Other attractions in the area include RHS gardens at Rosemoor and the Tarka Trail, both at Great Torrington. Spectacular beaches at Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho! are all within easy driving distance. There are numerous National Trust properties in the area including Castle Drogo, Arlington Court and Knightshayes.
