This quirky and quaint cottage is located in the stunning village of Great Longstone, conveniently placed for endless walks in the Derbyshire Dales, featuring the Monsal Head Trail which comes highly recommended. You are within close proximity to the picturesque towns of Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton which all have great shops, cafes, bakeries and restaurants with rivers running through.

The cottage has been finished beautifully, with exposed stonework throughout and original features being kept. Step into the kitchen where you have all the equipment you need to cook up your favourite breakfast before heading out on your adventures, in the evening take advantage of the three local pubs (within 2 to 15 minutes walking distance), which serves tasty homemade meals and fantastic ales. Two steps down from the kitchen is the bathroom; the bath is a half bath size with a shower overhead. Head up a flight of steps to the front door where you enter the hallway of this beautiful home, finished to a high, modern standard. The property offers two lounges, the first main lounge leads off from the kitchen and has a Smart TV, the second lounge is classed as the snug with dark interiors, a wood burner and a Smart TV making it a lovely cosy spot to enjoy the evening together with friends and family. The family bathroom is located on the first floor with a bath and separate shower. On the second floor is the fourth and final bedroom with a super king zip and link bed, plus a pull out small since bed suitable for a child if this is required. The second bathroom is situated on the second floor with a bath with a shower attachment. Outside there is a lovely garden area which includes a pergola where you can sit and enjoy the view over fields. There is a raised patio area with high quality, comfortable furniture with sunshade and a BBQ so you can relax and enjoy dinning alfresco whilst watching the sheep in the field behind. Leave the car behind and explore Bakewell itself with its quaint and classic shop fronts and many independent shops. Visit the famous Bakewell pudding shop or any of the many other cafes, restaurants, and pubs that Bakewell has to offer. Take a stroll along the River Wye which runs through the centre of the town and walk over the love lock bridge. Bakewell has a popular market every Monday and a farmers’ market one Saturday a month.

The picturesque towns of Matlock and Buxton are easily accessible from Bakewell. Both bedrooms are at the front of the property meaning you have the wonderful views over the river and both bedrooms also have enough space for a put-up bed or travel cot. To the rear of the property is an outhouse where you can store your bike, plus there is a counter-top freezer and washing machine available for your use with washing line that can be pulled out in the courtyard.
From Puddle Duck Cottage you are just a short walk from Bakewell town centre where you can enjoy the markets, shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs, don’t forget a visit to the traditional Bakewell Pudding shop while you are there to taste the delights on offer. There are also many walks you can take from here; on foot you can head to Chatsworth House and the Monsal Trail. You will see some wonderful sites and panoramas of the Peak District landscape.
