The village is rich in Border history: historic St Cuthbert’s Church is just behind the cottage and the main street is dominated by the ruins of Norham Castle set high above the river. This is a wonderful base from which to explore the Scottish Borders and north Northumberland. The spacious well-equipped kitchen/dining room is ideal for families having the typical ‘light hearted family debates’ over meals or that essential game of monopoly that we all secretly love. All the appliances in the well-appointed kitchen are those you’d expect in a property of such standards, including a washing machine for those muddy clothes or rinsing out sailing gear. The recently added downstairs toilet provides additional convenience. Upstairs you’ll find three comfortable and well presented bedrooms. One has a double bed with stunning views of the hills, one with twin beds and one single. The bathroom is also upstairs and has a suite with over bath shower. Outside, the gardens include a sunny south facing garden which is ideal for children or just enjoying the pleasant atmosphere, and another garden to the rear, looking to the Borders. The good size garden and elevated timber decking viewing platform will be a great place to enjoy the outside. This farming two storey property sleeps six comfortably in three bedrooms. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor with the remaining twin and double bedrooms upstairs. The bathroom with shower over L-Shaped bath are on the ground floor. A fairly well-equipped kitchen has a little utility area off to the side to allow for that extra little bit of practical space you always need. Of course we always hope for great weather when we are away from home but if the weather isn’t great there is an open fire for those cold and grim days. This really is a fabulous property to spend your break. So easy to get to, so easy to access places of interest and activities either by road or by rail from Berwick and so fantastic to be able to enjoy those views of the sea at the front and side and then open country and hillsides from the other side of the house.£91From price per night based on 7 night stay
