Lake Windermere and the Steamers are a short drive or walk away, and you can easily access the main routes to explore further afield. To the north, you will reach Windermere, Ambleside and Grasmere. To the south Newby Bridge, The Aquarium of the lakes and The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway or you can take the car fery over to Hawkshead and Coniston.
