Swn Y Nant is a stunning lodge in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. This eco-friendly property is perfect for those wanting to explore the area or to simply have a romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Nestled next to a stream and with a ramp to the entrance, this fabulous lodge comprises a ground floor bedroom with a super kingsize zip and link bed and a ground floor bathroom with a walk-in shower, a double-ended two-person bath and a heated towel rail. The open plan living, dining and kitchen space has floor-to-ceiling windows making it light and airy and has a Smart TV, super fast Wi-Fi up 150 mbps download and patio doors leading to the decked area with a private hot tub. There is also a small utility area. To the first floor is a kingsize bedroom with Smart TV. There is underfloor heating throughout the property with zoned thermostatic controls.
Outside, you will find hot and cold taps, perfect for washing your four-legged friends off after a walk in the hills. This eco-friendly lodge has eco cleaning products which are supplied along with a welcome basket of local produce, as well as a welcome basket for your dog containing treats and eco waste bags, also supplied is a bed, a blanket and a towel for your four-legged friend. A medium sized dog cage is available upon request.
There are plenty of walks to be had from the property; it is 6 miles to the historic town of Brecon with its array of coffee shops, small local independent shops, and art galleries. There is something here for everyone, and for those looking for more adventures then why not climb the high peaks of Pen Y Fan and take in the breathtaking views of the rolling countryside?

This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. World renowned for books and bookshops and its literary festival, it also has a renovated castle, traditional markets with local produce, art galleries, antique and independent shops, great gastro pubs, restaurants and cafés. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. You’ll find a small children’s play park within walking distance as well as stunning riverside walks, close to the riverside beach, The Warren. Maesydderwen, meaning oak field, started life as a working farm and later became a country inn, but is now a collection of delightful holiday cottages, beautifully situated within the living landscape of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The charming market town of Llandeilo, with chic shops and an array of good restaurants, cafes and pubs, is just over three miles away. This holiday property has CCTV and has been renovated by the owners who live on-site, and boasts a fantastic hot tub and comfortable accommodation ideal for families, friends or couples. The property has been awarded Bronze in the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards for self catering accommodation of the year 2018/2019 (3 units or more). There is an abundance of wildlife to see and enjoy from the grounds including woodpecker, siskin, marsh tit, goldfinch, nuthatch and wild roe deer. Red kites can also often be seen soaring overhead and there is a feeding station a 20-minute drive away. You can leave the car behind and enjoy wonderful walks directly from the cottage. If you can drag yourself away from Maesydderwen, there are the beautiful castles of Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr nearby, and the dammed lake of Llyn Y Fan Fach at the western border of the Black Mountains. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, 11 miles, with its great glasshouse dome at its centre, is a year round attraction, and within the Brecon Beacons National Park there are masses of paths and trails for walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, golfers, horse riders and wildlife watchers. Adrenaline sports such as paragliding, canoeing, rafting and abseiling can also be organised within the national park. Fishing is available in the nearby Towy Valley. Beach 30 miles. Tegfan is a warm and welcoming bungalow in the village of Llangenny, a short drive from the picturesque town of Crickhowell, nestling in the wonderful Usk Valley. Tegfan offers plenty of space for a family or group of friends and is all on one level. As you enter through the lovely conservatory, you will undoubtedly be struck by the amazing views of the Black Mountains; the eastern range of the Brecon Beacons National Park. There is also gorgeous view from the open plan kitchen and living room, and of course the spacious garden. The owner, who lives nearby, has thoughtfully furnished and equipped the bungalow, and it offers spacious accommodation, with three bedrooms, a bathroom and additional walk in wet room, ideal for anyone less mobile.
Within the nearby Georgian town of Crickhowell, you will find a high street reflecting the character of a long lost era. John Evans described it as the "Glittering Jewel of the Vale" in his 19th-century book, ’The Garden of Wales’. Here, there are friendly independent shops and businesses selling local produce and products. There is also a wide selection of places to eat, from pubs and cafés to restaurants and a bistro. The remains of a 13th-century castle still stand in the town, whilst the Iron Age hillfort of Crug Hywel, better known as Table Mountain, looks down upon the town from the flanks of Pen Cerrig-calch to the north. The Beacons Way, which passes through the town, will take you steeply up there, although there plenty of more leisurely walks available, including beside the River Usk or along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in nearby Llangattock. The Crickhowell Walking Festival has become very well-established in recent years, or you might also want to catch the town’s Dragon Festival or the Green Man Music Festival in the Brecon Beacons.
There are events and activities in the area all year round, including festivals of food and drink, jazz and stargazing (the Beacons are an International Dark Skies Reserve). Adrenalin packed adventures nearby include caving, climbing, paragliding, cycling, horse riding and boating on Llangorse lake. A 30-minute drive will bring you to the Big Pit National Coal Museum, where you can go underground as the coalminers did, or visit the dinosaurs and show caves at Dan-yr-Ogof.

The kind owners offer a laundry service, and the option for breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals can be provided at an additional cost (arranged direct with the owner). Limestone flooring and the natural pink hues of the exposed stonework give a light and airy feel throughout the property. The sleek kitchen and bathroom, both with underfloor heating, and the tastefully decorated bedrooms complete the theme. French doors lead out on to the patio and an unfenced stream passes through the enclosed garden to the rear of the property. Nestled up on the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park, this area is a nature lover’s paradise, with footpaths and bridleways giving direct access to the Black Mountain from the farm.
Up above the village of Llanddeusant sits the famous lake known as Llyn y Fan. This beautiful lake is a popular destination for walkers as it boasts spectacular views and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere. Myths about The Lady of the Lake and the Physicians of Myddfai come from ancient times, and some people believe that the Arthurian legend of the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur stem from here.
If you’re a romantic star gazer then the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Wales, situated in the Brecon Beacons, is perfect for you. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way, major constellations, bright nebulas and even meteor showers. It’s enough to make anyone starry-eyed.
Less than half an hour’s drive will bring you to the colourful, picturesque town of Llandeilo, scattered with an array of shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. It’s a delightful place to spend a few hours. Throughout the year you can watch the graceful red kite swoop down for food provided by the Red Kite Feeding Station also in Llanddeusant.

The semi-detached property comprises an L-shaped living room with a 36" TV, leading into the open plan kitchen/dining room. There is a single bedroom on the ground floor with a wet room and patio doors leading to the garden. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a spacious bathroom with a shower over the bath. To the rear of the property is a garage which is great for putting your mountain bikes or kayaks in for storage.

The property is nestled in the town of Talgarth which has plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops on the doorstep. It is just 9 miles from the town of Brecon, with its abundance of coffee shops and historic places to visit such as the Royal Welsh Museum and Brecon Cathedral. For the more adventurous why not take a walk up Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales?

The property is 8 miles from the literary town of Hay-on-Wye which holds the famous Hay Festival every year and has some lovely quaint book shops and patisseries. Cardiff and Swansea are roughly an hour’s drive from the property and offer fun-filled days out. Shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

The Groom’s Room has been restored to a good standard and offers great accommodation for couples, small families or friends alike, with an open plan living space with patio doors overlooking the paddock and surrounding countryside. It is situated on the owner’s stud farm and the property overlooks a paddock with the owner’s pet sheep and horses in. There is a paddock to exercise your dogs in and you can also bring your own horses as there is plenty of stabling here with lots of places to hack out (stabling is at cost, by direct arrangement with owners).
There is plenty to do in the area whether you are walking or cycling. BikePark Wales is approximately 8 miles from the property and hosts some of the best mountain biking routes in the world. For those who enjoy walking then Garwnant Visitors Centre in the Brecon Beacons is a great place to take the kids - plenty of walks to be had and a great play park. Dare Valley Park is a great place for taking in the nature and listening to the birds with 500 acres of pond dipping. The property is also within a short distance of the Ystradfellte waterfalls and Penyfan. If you would like to spend an afternoon shopping, then the retail park at Cyfarthfar has plenty of shops for you to peruse. If you want to leave the car behind, the city of Cardiff is easily accessible by train from Aberdare for a day out. For those looking for watersports or a trip to the beach, Barry Island is 25 miles from the property. Whatever you decide to do this converted stables is greatly placed for all activites.
