This beautiful end terrace period holiday property is situated in the centre of the popular border town of Hay-on-Wye and within walking distance of its amenities. There is much on offer in the great outdoors with fishing, horse riding, cycle and canoe hire all available locally. Wonderful walking area with two long distance footpaths, namely Offa’s Dyke Path and the Wye Valley Walk, both with stunning scenery of the beautiful border country. Brecon, Builth Wells and the cathedral city of Hereford are all within easy driving. You’ll find a small children’s play park within walking distance as well as stunning riverside walks, close to the riverside beach, The Warren. Located in the heart of The Brecon Beacons National Park, this property has been beautifully renovated to a high standard in 2022. The historic town of Brecon is 5 miles away where you will find plenty of coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars. Don’t miss a visit to the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh at the barracks. Wherever your holiday takes you, Ty Afon will certainly delight in home from home comforts. There are two local pubs, a café and a shop within a few yards.

Dardy Cottage has been renovated to a very good standard in 2020 and is located in the village of Dardy. The historic town of Crickhowell is 15 minutes’ walk, (¾ miles) from Dardy Cottage. The village of Llangattock is just 5 minutes’ walk, and has several pubs offering food and an excellent children’s playground recently upgraded. Crickhowell was named in 2019 as the best place to live in Wales by the Sunday Times, and also best high street in Britain in 2018. There is an array of amenities there including independent boutiques, coffee shops, bookshops, groceries and restaurants. For those who enjoy music festivals, Crickhowell is home to the ’Green Man’ during August. This property is also perfect for anyone wanting to participate in the annual Crickhowell Walking Festival, in March.
The town of Abergavenny is 7 miles away and there you will find some fine dining restaurants, including a Michelin-starred restaurant. Abergavenny is also host to an annual food festival in September. The South Wales three peaks event Blorenge/Sugar Loaf and Skirrid in a day!) takes place in March. The "platinum challenge" starts from Crickhowell.
Brecon is just 15½ miles away from Dardy Cottage and has lots of places of interest, such as the Welsh Regimental Museum and Brecon Cathedral, and it is also home to a jazz festival every August. For those wanting to explore the area on foot, Pen Y Fan, south Wales’ highest peak, offers great opportunities. Sugar Loaf Mountain is also nearby and is the southernmost of the peaks in the Black Mountain Range. The annual Crickhowell Walking festival provides a range of guided walks.
Dardy Cottage is close to the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal and the Usk Valley Walk National Trail, which run through the village, offering easy access on foot and bike to local attractions and Sustrans cycling routes. For cyclists we have secure storage in the garage.

Isla’s Cottage is a cosy 18th-century Welsh cottage situated in the quaint village of Ystradgynlais, Swansea Valley. It’s central location is ideal for visiting the Gower Peninsula with its award winning beaches, the Brecon Beacons National Park and other local attractions. Ideal for couples and families. The cottage is a short walk from the village centre where there are numerous cafés, bars, restaurants and lovely shops. The cottage has a multi-fuel burner, perfect for a cosy night in after a day of walking/activities. Other facilities include an enclosed garden with patio area, perfect for your canine companions.
The cottage is full of character, and downstairs you will find a bathroom with shower over P-shaped bath, a good sized kitchen with gas hob, electric oven and washing machine. The kitchen leads to an enclosed garden with seating and a bike store, and upstairs there is one double and one single bedroom.
There is lots to do in this area, and with being centrally based, you can be on the beach in 40 minutes or in the mountains in 30 minutes. There are lots of walks to be found near the property, great for taking your four-legged friends. Horse riding is available a short drive from the property, and the award winning Dan yr Ogof show caves is great day out for adults and kids alike. The town of Ystradgynlais is a short walk from the property, where an abundance of restaurants, shops and pubs can be found. Shop ½ mile. Pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Holly Cottage is a charming, spacious traditional 18th century end terraced cottage. It overlooks the old mining village of Cwmtwrch at the foot of the Black Mountain on the southern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Next to the cottage is on site private parking for in excess of three vehicles and for any cycle enthusiasts wanting to bring their bikes, the property also offers a lockable bike store. Sympathetically restored, this welcoming cottage offers a cosy sitting room with exposed beams and wood burner, a well-equipped kitchen-dining area and three attractive, comfortable bedrooms. Slate flooring throughout the downstairs is easily cleaned when little paws leave a trail. The fully enclosed garden has a patio area with table and chairs, giving great views of the Twrch valley and making it a lovely spot to enjoy al fresco meals. There’s also a large lawn for your furry (and non-furry) family members to run around on.
The village has two pubs within 200 metres of the cottage serving good quality food, one of which is also dog friendly. There are three more eateries to be found within 2 miles, all of a good standard. There’s a local golf course as well as riding stables nearby. This wonderful cottage lies at the crossroads of four areas of natural beauty; For the walkers out there, the Black Mountain is quite literally out of the gate and onto any one of 3 footpaths, 2 of which follow the Affon Twrch all the way up the mountain the 3rd follows the Nant Gyws on the other side of the ridge. Just 25 miles to the northeast you will find Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons and 20 miles away to the southwest lies Swansea Bay, the Mumbles and the stunning Gower coastline with its internationally renowned beaches. The epic and romantic castles of Carmarthenshire lie just to the north, whilst the hauntingly beautiful Vale of Neath, and its waterfalls, lie very close by to the east. The National Show Caves for Wales are approximately 10 miles from the property and make a fantastic day out. Bike Park Wales is about a 30-minute drive east from the property at Merthyr Tydfil and Afan Forest Mountain Bike Trails are 30-minutes south, close to Neath, with masses of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts. Holly cottage really is the perfect getaway for nature lovers, walkers, families and explorers alike. A convenient, relaxing base, and a wonderful cottage for a memorable family holiday.

This eco-conscious property consists of an open-plan living space with spacious kitchen-diner and island complete with beautiful oak ridge lantern from which you can look up and view the stars. Kitchen is well equipped and also has a dining table. Step down two steps into the living room with its with Smart TV, unlimited Wi-Fi and Netflix and double sofa bed with deluxe mattress. Please note if sleeping in the living area there are no blinds over the roof lantern in adjacent kitchen-diner, therefore light will come through in the early morning however it’s just perfect for lying in bed and stargazing in the world renowned Brecon Beacons Dark Sky Reserve. From the living area there are French doors leading on to the slate patio area of the garden. The boot/utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a separate shower room with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and Smart TV, and a twin room, both with their own en-suite bathrooms.

The outside space is just fabulous, with a large slate patio complete with luxury outdoor furniture overlooking Llandeilo and the River Towy and an enclosed grassed area. Up to two friendly dogs are welcome at the property, but please be aware that there are sheep and cows grazing opposite the property so it may be wise keeping them on a lead when not in your enclosed garden. There is off road parking which can be found at the side of the property.

The heart of Llandeilo is on your doorstep and the town holds various events throughout the year, including a music festival, jazz festival and the unique Festival of Senses in November. On the edge of the town why not visit the lovely National Trust Dinefwr Park and Gothic Newton House? A short but energetic walk across the famous King’s bridge and up the hill into the town which is renowned for its award-winning chocolate shop, gin bar, boutique shopping and elegant restaurants. Carmarthenshire is abundant with historical monuments, wonders of nature and fantastic beaches. Travel over breathtaking mountains and lose yourself in the solitude of the vast countryside. Within a few miles you can enjoy days out at Aberglasney House and Gardens and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, with the largest single span glasshouse in the world.

Sennybridge has all the amenities you could need from pubs, restaurants and local shops. The historic town of Brecon is 9 miles from the property where you will find plenty of coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and bars, and don’t miss a visit to the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh at the barracks. It is also a great location for star gazers as the property is in the Brecon Beacon National Park and is an International Dark Sky Reserve.
For those looking to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park then this property is just 9 miles from the base of Pen Y Fan, so you can enjoy a climb to the top to see the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Bwthyn Canol is a fabulous base for walkers and cyclists as there is plenty of beautiful countryside to explore. There are walks to be had from all directions of this terraced property which is great for your four-legged friends and for those wishing to cycle in the area there are plenty of routes, BikePark Wales is roughly a 25-minute drive from the property. Perfect property for those looking to explore the Brecon Beacons national park, this lovely cottage is based in the village of Defynnog. The property comprises of living/dining room with Smart TV, snug with Smart TV, kitchen with electric cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. On the first floor there are three bedrooms which include two double rooms, and a bunk bedroom, also with a bathroom including shower over the bath. Please note the garden is opposite the property over the road and is lawned and enclosed with garden furniture, on road parking.
There are two pubs in the village both serving food, including Sennybridge which is a mile away and has several pubs and grocery stores. Brecon is just 9 miles from the property; there is plenty to do in Brecon itself, with the Regimental Museum of the Royal Welsh, a short distance from the property, as well as a theatre and cathedral. If you fancy taking things at a slower pace, why not take a barge ride down the canal.
