Recently renovated this stunning barn conversion has been tastefully decorated and equipped and is spacious, bright and welcoming, yet the underfloor heating will insure this property remains ideal for a winter break. There are a wealth of things to do on the farm to keep youngsters entertained including plethora of farm animals, a communal swimming pool which is heated and will be open for use between May half term and mid September, a tennis court, games room and play area.
This comfortable, dog friendly, holiday home is a 15-minute walk from Widemouth Bay which is a fantastic beach and has a vast expanse of golden sands at low tide and many rock pools to explore. The surf is often outstanding, the sun hits the beach for most of the day and the sunsets over the sea are simply magical. 3 miles to the north is Bude, a vibrant, bustling little tourist town with a wealth of restaurants and amenities.
For walkers and cyclists the area is full of superb routes and Bude lies at the centre of the most dramatic stretch of the south west coastal footpath. There are numerous local villages and landmarks to explore and much of the area is a nature lovers paradise. Bude is only a couple of minutes down the road and has the full range of facilities that one would expect of a small town including a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurant.
Bude is possibly more diverse than any other holiday destination in Cornwall. Most major villages, towns and attractions are within an hour’s drive; and because Bude sits on the county border, visitors can explore the delights of both Devon and Cornwall at their leisure. Look past the eight main beaches and many smaller hidden coves and you will soon see there really is something for everyone. In the centre of Bude there is a huge, sandy beach which is a favourite with children and adults alike,there are a host of pubs, cafés and restaurants to suit every palate. There is a new Visitors Centre in the Crescent car park, a large children’s play area, a 19th century canal and a small wharf amongst many other attractions. Oceans is a lovely corner bungalow with a large, enclosed garden benefiting from sea views and located in a residential cul-de-sac just 100 yards from Widemouth Beach.
If it’s the beach you want with miles of sand, swimming, and surf then you’ll be spoiled for choice. Much of the coastline in this area is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow, and stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur. Further afield the fishing port of Padstow is a popular tourist destination. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that once visited, you will want to come back to time and time again. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing and building sandcastles on, rockpools for investigating at low tide, and cafés to watch it all from. The rolling waves are great for surfing all year round and the footpaths by the restored canal or on the Southwest Coast Path offer you a superb opportunity to explore and appreciate the outstanding countryside. Bude also has a superb golf course, indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area, and a heritage centre at Bude Castle. It also has a good selection of local shops, supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, and an excellent information centre.
Oceans is also perfectly located for you to discover the many natural delights that North Devon has to offer such as Exmoor National Park with its magical night skies in Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’, the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages such as Hartland, Lynton & Lynmouth, Ilfracombe, and the world-famous Clovelly Village with their awe-inspiring scenery and there are plenty of family-oriented places to visit including Exmoor Zoo, Milky Way Adventure Park, The Big Sheep farm-themed park and many others. And if Bude’s beaches aren’t enough for you then North Devon will leave you spoilt for choice with Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde, and Westward Ho! Beaches – some of the best in the country! This property has been newly renovated for this season, to include a new kitchen, new dining room and the addition of an en-suite cloak room in the master-bedroom. Appleloft is a charming stone cottage located in the hamlet of Pencuke, near to Crackington Haven beach and 8 miles from the pounding surf at Widemouth Bay. The community shop at Higher Crackington is within walking distance, a great place to stop for coffee, a delicious pasty or to sit and admire the outstanding views. Bude is only 10 miles away, an easy 20-minute drive.
The cottage enjoys a rural setting and has large gardens to both the front and rear of the property. There is ample parking and a gated drive way. On the ground floor there is a comfy lounge with a cosy wood burner, the newly refurbished kitchen and a twin bedroom. Three steps lead to the new open plan dining room area and to the upgraded bathroom. Stairs from the lounge lead to a large, but private, galleried bedroom offering a super kingsize bed, lots of storage space and delightful views over the front garden. This room has an ensuite cloakroom with vanity unit, toilet and towel rail. The flooring in this room is a quirky, historic feature from the days the room was used to store apples.
The area is great for walkers with spectacular coastline, wooded valleys and rolling farmland. The coastal path can easily be accessed from Crackington Haven Beach or Boscastle. In the cottage you will find a large range of walking books and maps to help you plan your days out. If beach life is your thing, you’ll be spoilt for choice in North Cornwall. Bude is a fabulous coastal town that is establishing itself as a centre for all sorts of outdoor adventure sports. Bude has something for everyone including great beaches for relaxing, rock pools for investigating and café’s to watch it all from. Once visited, you will want to come back time and time again. The rolling waves are great for surfing and there are surf schools catering for all abilities. Bude’s outdoor sea pool provides all year round free swimming. The footpaths by the restored canal and the independent shops and cafés offer a gentle alternative to the adrenaline fuelled beach activities. Bude also has a superb golf course, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley/indoor play area, cinema, a nearby riding school and a fascinating heritage centre at Bude Castle. It has a good selection of local shops, three supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants and an excellent information centre.
There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover within a short drive of the cottage. Boscastle, with historical connections to Thomas Hardy, and the stunning Tintagel, inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur, are nearby places to explore. Dr Martin fans might like to visit the villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, film locations for the fictional Port Wenn. Further afield the pretty fishing port of Padstow, famous for its Rick Stein restaurant, is a must, and for Poldark enthusiasts, you can soak up the atmosphere of ’Nampara Cove’ at Porthcothan and enjoy the windswept beach and crashing waves of ’Waleggans beach’ at Hollywell Bay. For a different landscape you can explore the vast moorland areas of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. Both are within easy reach and offer wild, remote walking routes dotted with the remains of prehistoric civilizations, stone circles, weather worn tors and wild ponies. The cottage is extremely well placed for access to the many popular beaches, villages, heritage properties and gardens of Cornwall and Devon. To be able to return at the end of the day to a haven of peace and tranquility... a little bit of Cornish magic, tucked away from the busiest tourist destinations, makes Appleloft a very special place.

Located just a few miles from the lovely town of Bude, famous for surfing and golden beaches, Pear Tree Cottage is the ideal base from which to explore the north west coast of Cornwall. One mile from the cottage is Black Rock Beach, with amazing geological rock formations, rock pools at low tide (which children love!) and soft sand for your four-legged friends to enjoy. Bude has many amenities, cafés, restaurants and gift shops. Visit Crackington Haven with its beautiful beach flanked by rising cliffs affording plenty of walks boasting breathtaking vistas. Tintagel, forever linked to the legend of King Arthur with its castle of two halves, lies a short distance away. The castle footbridge, a Yes masterpiece of engineering, is a must visit. This part of the coast has many historical tales of smuggling due to the many inlets and coves to explore! Beautiful Boscastle, with its quaint cottages and harbour, popular Port Isaac, made famous by a popular TV series ’Doc Martin’, are all within a short distance.

Pear Tree Cottage has an excellent open plan kitchen, dining area and living space. The kitchen is superbly equipped, whilst the living area, with its comfortable sofa and chairs, will be a welcome refuge to relax after a busy day of adventures. A lovely conservatory where you can enjoy breakfast as you plan your day is complemented by a private lawned area with wooden furniture. There are three bedrooms; bedroom 1 has a wonderful double bed with en-suite facilities whilst the second and third bedrooms have twin beds and plenty of storage space in each. The family bathroom offers both a bath with an electric shower over. A fabulous base from which to discover this magical part of Cornwall, Pear Tree Cottage is a Yes haven where you can relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life!

The coastline here is so dramatic - the beaches at Millook Cove and Crackington Haven are made spectacular by the surrounding cliffs and the coastal path offers walkers some of the finest coastal views in the country.
The Hayloft at Tregole Farm is a cosy home away from home, an open plan kitchen/living room with a cosy open fire and the sumptuous leather sofa is a great spot to snuggle up in the evening after a day exploring the dramatic coastline.
