Fantastic accommodation for two in the centre of the lovely village of Fenny Compton surrounded by beautiful countryside. Dassett View, part of the owners’ residential property, Bayards, was built of the local Horton stone. Dating back to mid-1600s as a cattle shed, it was converted to a residential accommodation in the 1970s and has recently been refurbished by the current owners. It is a listed building and sits on the edge on the village conservation area. This self-catering accommodation comprises a dedicated access to a well fitted kitchen incorporating everything you. Up the oak staircase brings you into the combined bedroom, sitting room and dining area which has been well designed with the guests comfort in mind. The fabulous bathroom offers ambient lighting so you can relax and unwind in the free standing bathtub after a day’s sightseeing. Views from the living area look across a horse paddock towards Burton Dassett hills.
The village of Fenny Compton, which is just a few miles north of the market town of Banbury, enjoys a friendly pub serving good food and a local shop for all your essentials. More comprehensive local amenities can be found in the local market towns of Banbury or Southam. The property is well situated to allow visitors to take advantage of the many local circular walks including routes along the Oxford Canal where you can enjoy watching the narrowboats sail by and lovely walks along the tow path and to Burton Dassett Hills country park where you can enjoy a picnic or even flying a kite.
Trips to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Leamington Spa are great towns to explore during your stay and there is easy access to the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty where you can meander through country roads stopping off at picturesque points and country pubs along the way. The National Trust property of Farnborough Hall is just over 2½ miles away and opens a couple of days a week during the summer months. Bicester Village, famous for its shopping village is within easy driving distance as is Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. Pub and restaurant 350 yards.

Being Grade II listed, the cottage is full of original features and charms, including exposed beams, uneven floors upstairs, low windows and sloping ceilings. The village of Oxhill lies in the rolling countryside of south Warwickshire, close to the border of Oxfordshire and the north Cotswolds in the area known as the Vale of the Red Horse. It’s in a great location to see many different areas and attractions as it lies halfway between Stratford-upon-Avon and Banbury.
The beautiful towns and villages of the north Cotswolds can be reached in approximately 10 minutes’ drive where you can explore Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold or Woodstock, home to Blenheim Palace. The National Trust’s Upton House and Gardens, Charlecote Park, Farnborough and Hidcote are all within easy reach. Compton Verney is just over 5 miles away, where you can discover the art gallery with its many collections and exhibitions, and enjoy the park with its labyrinth, bird hide, pond dipping and playground.
For more outdoor fun, head to Burton Dassett Hills, the perfect country park for walks, flying a kite or eating a picnic whilst admiring the views of rolling hills and open countryside. Within 20-30 minutes’ drive are the market towns of Banbury and Royal Leamington Spa, which are full of high street and independent shops, pubs, cafés, and restaurants. Also, a similar distance is Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick with its famous castle, and a little further Bicester Village, famous for its shopping village.

Ufton Fields Nature Reserve is on your doorstep where you can explore beautiful grassland, woodland and wetland, discover wildlife and simply enjoy the great outdoors. The Victorian Spa Town of Royal Leamington Spa is 10 miles and is full of stunning Regency architecture and wide boulevards and boasts a unique shopping experience with over 500 independent boutiques, high street brands and health and beauty salons.
