Not too near but not too far, Bunny Meadows is surrounded by a wealth of historic attractions and you will be centrally located for Pembrokeshire and the whole of south Wales. The Gower has lots to offer and many tourist attractions are only a short drive away. Locally the towns of Carmarthen and St Clears are only a 6 minute drive. The village shop, pub and restaurant are only 1½ miles….no hustle and bustle of busy tourist towns here!
Take a trip to Llanstephan and enjoy afternoon tea in the mansion house or walk on the sandy beach and then visit the castle. Only 15 minutes away is Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, again with a beautiful sandy beach and castle with a tearoom. There is also Pembrey Country Park or Heatherton and Oakwood theme parks to visit or for younger guests (and parents!) visit Folly Farm with lambs, all things fluffy and even tigers and giraffes. A short drive away is Skanda Vale a multi faith ashram which welcomes 90,000 pilgrims a year for those who need a peaceful retreat to stay whilst visiting the temples. Enjoy a plethora of walks from your doorstep to include a host of activities at the National Botanical Gardens of Wales with a bird of prey centre, butterfly house and Europe’s largest single span glass house.
Middleton Cottage has been lovingly furnished throughout with a spacious open plan kitchen diner with views over the rear enclosed garden, the cosy living room boasts a log burner and is ideal to relax in front of with a good film after a busy day sightseeing. Enjoy a read of some good books or some board games in the snug which acts as a second living space which is ideal to keep children entertained. On the first floor both light and airy bedrooms have been finished with comfort in mind and offer a good nights sleep.
The ancient town of Kidwelly is a 15-minute drive away and is home to one of the finest preserved Norman castles in Wales, along this wonderful coast is Pembrey Country Park, set in 500 acres of woodland where you can learn to dry ski and toboggan, there’s a children’s play area and 8 miles of golden sands at Cefn Sidan beach. Dylan Thomas’ stomping ground and the township of Laugharne are well worth a trip. Here you can visit his writing shed and see his local pub. The famous seaside walled town of Tenby and the Gower Peninsula are a great day out and within an hour’s drive.

Springer Cottage is a spacious mid terraced holiday cottage situated in the village of Llansteffan, which itself is nestled between the Towy Estuary with its glorious sandy beach and the rolling Welsh countryside. The county town of Carmarthen lies just 8 miles from Springer Cottage and offers plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants, galleries, cinema etc. The town lays claim to being the oldest in Wales and originates from AD75. A roman amphitheatre remains in the town, one of only 7 in the UK. Legend has it that Carmarthen was the home of Merlin, the wizard of Arthurian folklore; something lauded annually at a summer festival celebrating all things myth and magical at Carmarthen Park. The Angel Vaults Restaurant provides a great venue for lunches or evening meals for those exploring this intriguing county town. Whether returning from the ’Go Ape’ adventures at Pembrey Country Park, pony trekking across stunning beaches or a boat trip out of Tenby to the serenity of Caldey Island, you can’t fail to appreciate the comfort and convenience of Springer Cottage. Pendegy Mill lies within a wooded valley on the edge of the rural village of Llanybri, nestled in the Carmarthenshire countryside. Sited a convenient distance from the historic coastal village of Llansteffan, it is just half a mile from the West Wales Coastal Path. These two beautiful cottages, situated next to the owners’ home, are the perfect base to explore all that Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire have to offer. Mill Cottage was a working water mill; the mill race running into the babbling stream flowing through the beautiful grounds out to the River Taff and into the Carmarthen Bay. These two Welsh stone barns, The Granary and Mill Cottage, have been lovingly restored and offer an idyllic holiday location. They have been finished to a very good standard throughout and have been thoughtfully furnished. On the ground floor is an open plan living space which is superb for social and family gatherings. Take in the coastal air outside in the shared lawns and garden - the perfect spot to dine al fresco and enjoy a delicious meal cooked on the BBQ.
Take a trip into nearby Llansteffan for freshly brewed coffee or travel back in time with a visit to Llansteffan Castle which is steeped in history, and boasts commanding views across the estuary of the River Towy and out towards the Gower Peninsula. Travelling west, a trip to Laugharne is a must. Here you can visit the house and writing shed of famous poet Dylan Thomas, or stop for a refreshing drink and meal at one of the local pubs he would often frequent. Further along this unique coastline is the village of Pendine, which boasts 7 miles of beautiful sandy beach where the land speed record was set in the famous car, Babs. The car was excavated from the Pendine Sands and can be seen today at the Museum of Speed in the town. Within a 40-minute drive you can visit Carmarthen, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, the famous walled seaside town of Tenby, or enjoy a day out at Wales’ largest theme park, Oakwood. Moss Cottage is situated in the heart of the coastal town of Burry Port, on the doorstep of the Millennium Coastal footpath that meanders through the stunning scenery of Llanelli through to the historic town of Kidwelly. Lovingly restored, this terraced cottage has retained all of the property’s original charm and character, with an open plan living/dining room complete with a focal inglenook fireplace and a great sociable kitchen/breakfast room. On the first floor, the character continues with original stripped back floor boards and a restored feature fireplace within the master bedroom. The two double bedrooms also boast sea views. Make the most of the balmy summer days on the enclosed courtyard, while a few steps further away there is a lawned garden to enjoy. There is an in house gallery which supports local artists, pictures can be purchased from the owner.
With the beautiful Gower to the east and Pembrokeshire to the west, Moss Cottage is perfectly positioned to explore south and west Wales, but there is also so much to discover within Carmarthenshire. It has it all - castles, gardens, beaches, unique towns, varied landscapes and an overwhelming choice of activities. Enjoy a plethora of traditional Welsh pubs specialising in organic and home cooked food. 6 miles away is Pembrey Country Park and beach, with 550 acres of woodland, Segway and cycle hire, pitch and putt, nature trails, a dry ski slope and the longest toboggan run in Wales. Explore the history of the area and visit Kidwelly Castle, Laugharne Castle and Dylan Thomas Boat House. The National Botanic Garden of Wales, with a huge glass dome, is perfect for a day out whatever the weather, or discover a wide range of wildlife at the Llanelli Wetland Centre. One of the oldest towns, Carmarthen, is easily accessible by car, and horse racing enthusiasts will appreciate the close proximity to Ffos Las Racecourse.
