For alfresco dining a barbecue can be found on the patio, or stretch your legs around your private paddock and enjoy the freedom which it offers.
Not too near but not too far, Bunny Meadows is surrounded by a wealth of historic attractions and you will be centrally located for Pembrokeshire and the whole of south Wales. The Gower has lots to offer and many tourist attractions are only a short drive away. Locally the towns of Carmarthen and St Clears are only a 6 minute drive. The village shop, pub and restaurant are only 1½ miles….no hustle and bustle of busy tourist towns here!
Take a trip to Llanstephan and enjoy afternoon tea in the mansion house or walk on the sandy beach and then visit the castle. Only 15 minutes away is Laugharne, home of Dylan Thomas, again with a beautiful sandy beach and castle with a tearoom. There is also Pembrey Country Park or Heatherton and Oakwood theme parks to visit or for younger guests (and parents!) visit Folly Farm with lambs, all things fluffy and even tigers and giraffes. A short drive away is Skanda Vale a multi faith ashram which welcomes 90,000 pilgrims a year for those who need a peaceful retreat to stay whilst visiting the temples. Dove Cottage is the perfect spot to relax, unwind and take in everything this beautiful area has to offer. This lovely cottage was once a barn on this seven-acre smallholding, with horses, sheep, goats, chickens and bee hives, and guests are welcome to bring two well-behaved dogs. The spacious first floor bathroom has been finished to a very high standard with a walk-in shower, and both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished to offer a high level of comfort.
Situated in the Gwendraeth Valley, around a mile from the quaint village of Pontyates and 4 miles from the historic market town of Kidwelly on the Carmarthen Bay, Dove Cottage offers a fantastic central location to discover this stunning part of West Wales. Ffos Las racecourse, Glyn Abbey Golf Course, National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Pembrey Country Park are all within a 30-minute drive. Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsula offer a great day out for family and friends.
The Llanelli Wetland Centre is a must see, here you can hand feed the rarest Goose in the world, go bug hunting, see flamingos and enjoy bird watching from hides. The ancient town of Kidwelly is only a 5 minute drive away and is really worth a visit with plenty of shops and restaurants, and one of the finest preserved Norman Castles in Wales. Pembrey Country Park is around 10 minutes away and is fantastic for busy families and walker’s alike, complete with 500 acres of woodland, dry ski slope, toboggan run and the picture postcard Cefn Sidan Sands covering 8 miles of golden beach waiting to be discovered. Take a bike ride in Lyn Llech Owain Country park, a 158 acre park of woods, lakes and forest tracks for those wanting a more leisurely ride, and for adrenaline junkies you can head to the rough mountain trails. At the end of a busy day, come back and relax in the lovely enclosed garden to the rear of the property and watch the sun go down.
If it is walks you are looking for then there are plenty of sites to visit in this area. Head down to the Four Waterfalls in Ystradfellte and take in the natural beauty of the Welsh land and see the water cascading over the rocks. Head on down to the National showcase caves at Dan yr Ogof for a great day out for kids and adults. Beach 23 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Ty Nant

Mill House is a double fronted, listed, detached stone farmhouse dating from c.1795-1805. It was formerly part of the Cawdor Estate and was purchased by the current owner’s father in the 1960’s. Mill farm has been in the family’s possession (firstly as tenants and latterly as owners) for over a hundred and fifty years. The house was modernised in the 1970’s when a number of original features were either removed or covered up. Now, all of these changes have been reversed during a very careful and painstaking restoration. These have included opening up the original fireplaces, repairing the sash windows, installing a new underfloor heating system, and upstairs, exposing the original wooden floor and stairs. Holidaymakers now have the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy this wonderful historic home and relax in the comfort of its elegant surroundings.

Llandybie lies at the western base of the Black Mountains and very close to the Brecon Beacons National Park. Legend has it that caves on Llandybie’s limestone crop are the resting place of Owain Lawgoch, the sleeping warrior. Today the village of Llandybie (meaning St Tybie’s church) offers every amenity including award-winning pubs and the holiday property is conveniently situated opposite the sleepy railway station (just four trains a day!) on the Heart of Wales line, so you can leave the car behind and see places of rugged beauty, tranquil villages, impressive viaducts and picturesque Victorian spa towns dotted along one of the most scenic lines in the UK.

The lovely town of Llandeilo lies just 6 miles away and offers an array of chic shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a renowned luxury chocolatier and ice cream maker. Dinefwr Castle is also within walking distance of the town.

Other nearby places of interest include Carreg Cennen Castle, the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens. You will be ideally situated to discover the long and sandy beaches of Carmarthenshire or the Gower Peninsula. The area has it all, castles, gardens, beaches, unique towns, varied landscapes and an overwhelming choice of outdoor activities, and The Mill Farmhouse is the perfect base from which to enjoy it.
