Nearby, explore the historic castles of Kidwelly, Dynevor and Carew, and learn the rich history of the medieval times. Spend days visiting the market towns of Carmarthen and Laugharne, which was home to the famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas, and is renowned for its iconic boat house, historic castle and traditional Welsh pubs where fresh fish is always on the menu. A five minute walk away is the beach and all facilities including a pub, resturant (offers coffee in the mornings) and swimming pool. This is the perfect base for exploring South West Wales with sandy beaches and wonderful countryside in abundance.
The Millennium Coastal Park footpath runs from Ferryside and visits the rugged coves, stunning beaches and dramatic coastline this area has to offer, and is perfect by foot or cycle and runs for 14 miles passing Kidwelly, Burry Port and onto Llanelli. Trondra House is set on a small cul-de-sac of similar properties and is a superb holiday base offering spacious accommodation throughout.
On the ground floor the open plan living/kitchen/dining area offers a great social space with solid wood floors and flooded with light from the French doors which lead onto the conservatory, where you can enjoy an early morning coffee whilst watching the plethora of birdlife feeding. On the first floor the bright and airy master bedroom boasts a Juliet balcony; both bedrooms have been lovingly furnished with a good nights sleep in mind. The bathroom is ideal to rest those muscles after a busy day sightseeing with a large double-ended bath or enjoy the spacious walk-in double shower. On those warm summer evenings enjoy sitting outside with a BBQ with your family.
A trip to the coastal walled town of Tenby is around a 45 minute drive, here your family can discover the cobbled streets; take a boat trip to Caldey Island to see the Cistercian monks; take a swim or enjoy fish and chips on the harbour walls. Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Zoo and Heatherton World of Adventure, are also a nearby fantastic day out. Beach 1 mile.

For sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy playing at the Jack Nicklaus golf course, watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlets’ rugby stadium or visit Ffos Las Racecourse. These two beautiful cottages, situated next to the owners’ home, are the perfect base to explore all that Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire have to offer. Mill Cottage was a working water mill; the mill race running into the babbling stream flowing through the beautiful grounds out to the River Taff and into the Carmarthen Bay. These two Welsh stone barns, The Granary and Mill Cottage, have been lovingly restored and offer an idyllic holiday location. They have been finished to a very good standard throughout and have been thoughtfully furnished. On the ground floor is an open plan living space which is superb for social and family gatherings. Take in the coastal air outside in the shared lawns and garden - the perfect spot to dine al fresco and enjoy a delicious meal cooked on the BBQ.
Take a trip into nearby Llansteffan for freshly brewed coffee or travel back in time with a visit to Llansteffan Castle which is steeped in history, and boasts commanding views across the estuary of the River Towy and out towards the Gower Peninsula. Travelling west, a trip to Laugharne is a must. Here you can visit the house and writing shed of famous poet Dylan Thomas, or stop for a refreshing drink and meal at one of the local pubs he would often frequent. Further along this unique coastline is the village of Pendine, which boasts 7 miles of beautiful sandy beach where the land speed record was set in the famous car, Babs. The car was excavated from the Pendine Sands and can be seen today at the Museum of Speed in the town. Within a 40-minute drive you can visit Carmarthen, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, the famous walled seaside town of Tenby, or enjoy a day out at Wales’ largest theme park, Oakwood.
