Take a stroll to Blaen Y Cwm Nature Reserve and head down to Monknash beach and watch the waves crashing on the shoreline. Enjoy cliff top walks along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast with stunning views across the Bristol Channel to Somerset and North Devon. Beautiful Ogmore-by-Sea is 5 miles away with its huge beach and fabulous sand dunes. The lovely beach at Southerndown is close by too. For the more adventurous, the go-karting centre is just 3 miles from the property, Margam Park with Go Ape is 12 miles away and there are some beautiful walks to be had at Margam Park. The property is only 30 minutes from Cardiff and Swansea and the Gower Peninsula is not too far away. Pub 8-minute walk from the property. Nash point lighthouse is only 10 minutes away overlooking sandbanks, and the national trust Dyffryn gardens is only 25 minuites away. Or take a 10 minute drive to llantwit major, where you can catch the train to Cardiff, Barry or Penarth for a day out.

A little further along the coastline is Newport Sands and Mwnt Beach, which really are worth the visit and spectacular to visit all year round.

    Locally, a visit to Cenarth Falls really is not to be missed and if timed well, you can see the salmon leaping up the falls which really is a fantastic sight. Nearby is the Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran, which runs along the banks of the River Teifi made famous for coracle fishing. A great day out for all is the walled town of Tenby, complete with beach, cobbled streets and a host of eateries and craft shops. Folly Farm Zoo and Oakwood theme park are all within a 45-minute drive. Beach 4 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

Perhaps take a short drive to Cenarth Falls, where if your lucky enough, you may see the salmon leaping up through the falls travelling upstream. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is nearby and is worth a visit, as is the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron. Visit the coastal towns of Aberystwyth or Cardigan, both an easy drive away, or venture inland to the market towns of Lampeter, Tregaron or Newcastle Emlyn.

Travel south to the traditional market town of Cardigan, here the beautifully restored castle is not to be missed with 900 years of history to uncover. Enjoy a short walk into the village to discover the traditional Welsh pub or a freshly brewed coffee in the village café. There’s so much to explore in Cardigan Bay but if you want a day out to Pembrokeshire you can reach the well-known family attractions of Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo within an hour’s drive.
