Families will appreciate the separate recreational area with football posts and nets, picnic bench and table set away from the cottages. For added enjoyment, all four cottages feature their own private hot tubs in their enclosed patios.
All are ideally placed for exploring the dramatic and truly scenic Ceredigion coastline. The picturesque and colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is only 6 miles away where there is a selection of interesting independent shops and a great choice of restaurants and eateries including, fish and chips, ice cream parlour and fine dining. The National Trust house and gardens of Llanerchaeron are 4 miles away and from here there’s a delightful level pedestrian country footpath, suitable for bikes, pushchairs or wheelchairs, which leads into Aberaeron. Pretty New Quay with boats bobbing about in the harbour is just a few miles further on, and is definitely worth a visit. You must look out for the resident pods of bottlenose dolphins seen in the bay on an almost daily basis! Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Drive along the Plynlimon Mountains, through the Tywi Forest or visit the impressive Abergwesyn Pass, and marvel at the solitude.

There are two lakes on-site, and a pitch and putt area (dependent on weather and ground conditions) which can be accessed via a footbridge at the bottom of one of the two gardens. Drws y Coed is nestled adjacent to the owners’ home, in the grounds of a small Welsh manor and enjoys far reaching countryside views from your garden. With many beautiful beaches, bays, villages and interesting market towns to visit, this a wonderful base from which to enjoy and explore the fabulous scenery of Ceredigion and the Heritage coastline of Cardigan Bay. The beautiful harbour village of New Quay is only 7 miles away, where you can enjoy not only the beach and boat trips, but an array of shops and eateries, or you can just sample an ice cream. Why not have a seat on the harbour wall and watch out for the Bottlenose dolphins which are regular visitors to this area; you can also take a boat trip out for a closer look at the dolphins and wide array of sealife.

This spacious cottage is set across two floors with the open plan kitchen and living room perfect for formal meals, whilst French doors lead to the garden area for alfresco dining. Within a short drive you can explore the unspoilt beaches and coves such as Penbryn, Cei Bach and Cwmtydu, once a haven for smugglers, where in late summer, you may see Atlantic grey seals with their pups. The colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron is a 20-minute drive and offers an abundance of shops, restaurants and cafés, and a delightful level walk, suitable for bikes and pushchairs, to the National Trust property of Llanerchaeron, an 18th-century Welsh gentry estate. For those visitors who enjoy outdoor pursuits there is a canoeing centre and fishing available in Llandysul. Fly and coarse fishing, as well as golfing, are available in Lampeter. Also within reasonable driving distance are the interesting towns of Carmarthen, Cardigan and Aberystwyth.

Pensarnau is situated on the main coastal road, which means you’re extremely handy for exploring Cardigan Bay. Here there are beach walks to be had, dolphins to be spotted, and coastal towns and villages to be explored. A little over 2 miles will bring you to the National Trust beach of Penbryn or the beach at Tresaith, where there’s a great pub overlooking the sea. The tranquil cove at Llangrannog has two pubs and cafés, and a bit further up the coast the pretty seaside town of New Quay has a good selection of eateries and independent shops as well as lovely beaches. There are many beaches up and down the coast that accept dogs year round, if you are bringing your furry friends on holiday. Make sure you visit Cardigan town itself, just a 15 minute drive will bring you to the thriving market town on the banks of the estuary. Stroll around the narrow streets and visit the ancient castle ruins and exhibitions. There’s an Indian restaurant on a boat and in season a tipi restaurant serving wood fired pizzas! There’s so much to explore in Cardigan Bay but if you want a day out to Pembrokeshire you can reach the well-known family attractions of Oakwood Theme Park and Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo (with the only giraffes in Wales) within an hour. Wales’ smallest city of St David’s with a magnificent Cathedral and Bishops Palace will only take you 75 minutes to reach.
