Located in the magnificent Peak District National Park means the surrounding area is home to incredible countryside with excellent walking, mountain biking, cycling and rock climbing all easily accessible. Secure bike storage is available together with facilities to wash them down, and any four-legged friends. Its rural location means the nights are peaceful, dark and the grounds are visited by local red deer herds, greater spotted woodpeckers, lapwings, badgers, and foxes to name but a few.
Although truly rural, for anyone looking to venture further afield the towns of Bollington, Macclesfield, Buxton, and Whaley Bridge are all accessible in a 15 – 20-minute drive. In Whaley Bridge you can stroll along the tow path to the Buxworth Basin or take a narrow boat trip. The famous spa town of Buxton boasts the opera house, Pavilion Gardens, and the 5* Buxton Spa for anyone looking for some pampering. Bollington is a thriving town with plenty of busy pubs, eateries, bars, and cafés, and both Whaley Bridge and Macclesfield have train stations offering a direct service to Manchester in under an hour. You can travel through Winnets Pass to the charming village of Castleton in just over half an hour or visit Chatsworth House and Bakewell in around 45 minutes. Matlock Bath and Alton Towers also make great days out - the choice really is yours to do as much or as little as you like.

History buffs will relish in a trip to the nearby town of Macclesfield where they can discover the rich and captivating history of Armoury Towers and Fence Alms Houses or the Priests House that rests in the quintessential village of Prestbury.

Willington is also home to an established riding centre where you can enjoy lessons or escorted hacks. Tarporley itself is less than 3 miles and is home to an array of characterful pubs, restaurants, and shops. Brackenwood is a distinguished and spacious, six-bedroomed period house with a separate two-bedroom cottage annexe, located on the beautiful Wirral Peninsula. In a prominent elevated position, it borders extensive areas of natural beauty with direct access to the beautiful woodlands of Caldy Hill. Offering far-reaching views, the property is detached and gated with CCTV making it private and secure. Filled with as much history as it has character and charm, it offers flexible and usable accommodation. The main house covers three levels, is beautifully presented, and luxuriously modernised to match the needs of today’s living. Upon entering via the original period front door, the grand entrance hall opens to a spacious sitting room where there’s a Fendi chaise lounge, comfy sofas, Smart TV, parquet flooring and beautiful Persian rugs. Next door is a spacious bedroom with a super kingsize bed and an elegant oak desk. The impressive underfloor heated kitchen/diner is based around a quartz top centre island and is a foodie’s dream. There are three inbuilt fridges (including a bespoke drinks fridge), plus a large larder freezer - perfect for entertaining. The AEG ovens and microwave are at eye level and self-cleaning; there’s a Nespresso coffee machine and an Alexa. The large dining table and soft seating space is flooded with natural light thanks to huge bi-fold doors, and the utility houses a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer. Finally there’s a downstairs toilet.
On the first floor is the master suite with super kingsize bed, sofa seating and TV. It has a vast en-suite with stand-alone bath and power shower. There are three further double bedrooms, of which one is en-suite, and the main family bathroom. The second floor boasts another luxurious bedroom with sky lights and en-suite facilities, and many of the bedrooms can be offered as twin upon request. All beds have pocket sprung luxury mattresses with 200-thread-count cotton linen, and duvets and pillows are ethically sourced goose/duck down.

There is an on-site tea room open from March to October (Thursday–Sunday) and specialises in Cheshire-based produce, but also has a Caribbean influence. It’s fully licensed so expect bacon rolls and home made cake together with the odd cocktail!
