In a prominent elevated position, it borders extensive areas of natural beauty with direct access to the beautiful woodlands of Caldy Hill. Offering far-reaching views, the property is detached and gated with CCTV making it private and secure. Filled with as much history as it has character and charm, it offers flexible and usable accommodation. The main house covers three levels, is beautifully presented, and luxuriously modernised to match the needs of today’s living. Upon entering via the original period front door, the grand entrance hall opens to a spacious sitting room where there’s a Fendi chaise lounge, comfy sofas, Smart TV, parquet flooring and beautiful Persian rugs. Next door is a spacious bedroom with a super kingsize bed and an elegant oak desk. The impressive underfloor heated kitchen/diner is based around a quartz top centre island and is a foodie’s dream. There are three inbuilt fridges (including a bespoke drinks fridge), plus a large larder freezer - perfect for entertaining. The AEG ovens and microwave are at eye level and self-cleaning; there’s a Nespresso coffee machine and an Alexa. The large dining table and soft seating space is flooded with natural light thanks to huge bi-fold doors, and the utility houses a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer. Finally there’s a downstairs toilet.
On the first floor is the master suite with super kingsize bed, sofa seating and TV. It has a vast en-suite with stand-alone bath and power shower. There are three further double bedrooms, of which one is en-suite, and the main family bathroom. The second floor boasts another luxurious bedroom with sky lights and en-suite facilities, and many of the bedrooms can be offered as twin upon request. All beds have pocket sprung luxury mattresses with 200-thread-count cotton linen, and duvets and pillows are ethically sourced goose/duck down.
The luxurious two-bedroom cottage was newly converted in 2023 and sleeps four guests in two double bedrooms. Finished to a high specification throughout, it includes a luxury bathroom with walk-in shower. The showroom kitchen is fully equipped making it completely self-contained; it’s modern, elegant, and comfortable.
The extensive landscaped grounds are equally impressive and offer the ultimate outdoor experience. The spacious sun terrace overlooks the Wirral Peninsula and includes a hot tub, sauna, outdoor ping pong and XL gas BBQ and grill. The gardens have been lovingly maintained and play host to different feature patio areas. There’s a delightful putting green designed by the Head Greenkeeper at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, that meanders down to a secluded fish pond, and the rear gardens enjoy a swing set for children and can be enclosed for both children and pets.
Brackenwood resides in a hugely popular location in the prestigious village of Caldy, a mere mile from the many attractions and services of West Kirby, including a fabulous array of beaches. West Kirby boasts the historic Hilbre Islands, the stunning Marine Lake and numerous boutique shops, restaurants and bars. The Wirral has an excellent range of leisure pursuits within its vicinity including sailing on the Dee Estuary, golf at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club and horse racing at Chester and Aintree. The cities of Liverpool and Chester provide a metropolitan range of shopping, restaurants and nightlife. On the recreational front there’s four Premier League football clubs in the region, rugby, cricket, and tennis clubs, and at Oulton Park there’s a motor racing circuit. Attractions nearby include the respective castles of Peckforton, Beeston and Cholmondley which can all be reached in 10–15 minutes, as can the world’s largest ice cream parlour at The Ice Cream Farm Tattenhall. Drift House is well located for events at Bolesworth Castle including Car Fest North and the International Horse Show. For anyone looking to explore the area on bike, the Sandstone Ridge provides quiet lanes over rolling hills with great café and lunch spots to break up your route, and off road trails are found at Delamere, and Llandegla Mountain Biking centre for the more adventurous riders. Secure bike storage is available at the property, although bikes can also be hired at local trail centres. Children will enjoy The Crocky Trail, Delamere Forest and Wild Shore Delamere which can all be reached in around 30 minutes, and for those seeking pampering or golf, a 10-minute drive will take you to a luxury country estate with spa and leisure facilities, together with two championship golf courses.
The centre of Manchester can be reached in around an hour, Liverpool in around 45 minutes or the historic city walls of Chester in around half an hour. There’s motor racing at Oulton Park, 30 minutes, the stunning Welsh Mountains or the Wirral Peninsula in around 60 minutes. As you enter the open plan living space filled with oak beams, you are greeted by a warm welcoming living area. If it’s a lovely sunny day, why not open the patio doors to the large, manicured gardens and sit and watch the world go by? The modern kitchen area is perfect for cooking up a storm and entertaining friends or family. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one king sized, two double beds), beams and vaulted ceilings and a separate bathroom. Outside is a beautiful lawned garden made for al fresco dining or cooking a fabulous barbecue. Alternatively, there are many beautiful country walks to try, one of which begins at the property.
Wee Bridge Farm Cottage is situated in the village of Mobberley which has six wonderful country pubs, a farm shop, a bakery, a selection of other shops and its own train station. It is a great base to explore the area. The quaint town of Knutsford is only a five-minute drive away and has antique and specialist shops as well as many restaurants. Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Altrincham, and Hale are also close by.
Or head to iconic Manchester about 30 minutes away which has many attractions including Legoland discovery centre, various museums and art galleries and, of course, Old Trafford (football and cricket) and the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool is less than an hour’s drive away and is the birthplace of the Beatles.
