Eldin Hall Cottages are set in a peaceful area and have been added more recently to the restored old Victorian waterworks. The four cottages have their own enclosed decked patios with garden furniture, and The Gatehouse has its own enclosed private lawned garden. There is also a shared garden with a fantastic play area for the children. The owners, who just 10 minutes away, will be there to greet guests whenever possible, and are available any time to provide information and assistance when it is required.
Situated between Cayton and Cayton Bay, the cottages are an ideal base to visit the east coast, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. The beach at Cayton Bay is less than a mile away (2 miles by road) and just a little further up the coast is the popular seaside town of Scarborough. The resorts of Filey, Flamborough Head and Bridlington are just a short drive away. The walks along the clifftops are spectacular and form part of the Cleveland Way walk. The RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs attracts visitors from worldwide and is just a short drive from the cottages. Here you can see puffins, kittiwakes and lots of other migrating seabirds. Not to be missed during your stay (as it’s always voted as one of the top ten cities to visit) is the wonderful city of York which is less than an hour away by car, or the train is direct from Scarborough. These comfortable and well appointed converted farm buildings are adjacent to the owner’s residence on a working farm. Semi-detached Bodwi Isaf and detached Bodwi Bach offer a good holiday base from which to enjoy the attractions of the area. Abersoch, 1 mile, with its sandy beach and harbour is well worth a visit. There are several sandy beaches within two miles and good facilities for sailing, fishing, pony trekking and playing golf. The surrounding countryside is ideal for those who enjoy walking and birdwatching. The Lleyn Peninsula is within easy reach. Pwllheli 7 miles. Shop and Pub 1½ miles.

This lovely, semi-detached pet friendly converted barn is on the outskirts of Dyffryn Ardudwy near Barmouth. Furnished to a good standard, the accommodation provides a perfect retreat for couples wanting to explore this part of rural Snowdonia. The open plan living area is well-equipped and has plenty of storage and worktop space, together with a breakfast bar, and there is a comfortable leather sofa and flatscreen Freeview TV in the living room. The bathroom is surprisingly generous and has a powerful shower, and the bedroom is also very comfortable and features a kingsize bed. With everything on the ground floor, you’ll find it offers easy access. Outside there’s a small patio area where you can relax with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the sea views. There is also a larger garden area shared with two other cottages, also sleeping 2 (refs UK6584 and UK6586).
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Harlech and explore its impressive castle. Take leisurely walks from the door or spend a day at the nearby sandy beach at Morfa Dyffryn. Explore the Snowdonia National Park or why not bring your bike (or hire locally) and cycle along the old railway line to Dolgellau? Beach 1 mile. Shop 300 yards, pub and and restaurant ½ mile.

Bell Hill Cottage is a very spacious ground floor apartment set in the lovely village of Lindale. A stone’s throw away from the local village pub makes it great for enjoying an evening drink or dinner and leaving your car at home.

Lindale is better known as the gateway to the south Lake District. With easily accessible routes from the M6 and A590, you are not far from anywhere. Just 2 miles down the road and you can find the popular Edwardian seaside resort town of Grange-over-Sands, with an abundance of shops, pubs and cafes; there is plenty to see and do. If visiting the seaside is of interest to you, why not head a little bit further out to Roanhead Beach near Ulverston or Humphrey Head?
Other close by popular towns include Cartmel, 4 miles, a traditional Cumbrian village famous for its sticky toffee pudding and race course. The towns of Kendal, 12 miles, Windermere, 13 miles, and Coniston, 20 miles, all have plenty to offer. The south Lake District is only a 10-minute drive away, with Newby Bridge nearby which is home to the Lakes Aquarium.
Whilst most people visit the area to walk, there are plenty of other outdoor activities on offer. There is a golf course within 2 miles, a leisure centre with swimming pool at Kendal, 12 miles, and at Grizedale Forest, 13 miles, there is mountain biking, Segways and the Go Ape treetop adventure. Other popular activities include climbing, fell running and watersports. Golf, tennis and a leisure pool are in the town itself, or further afield the cities of Dundee and Aberdeen are almost equi-distant and have plenty of shops, eateries and theatres for an alternative day out.
