At the other end of town is the famous Great Orme’s Head, rising to 679ft above the town, with great views of the surrounding coastline – and on a clear day you can even see the Isle of Man! Visit 4000-year-old copper mines, the ski slope or toboggan run, ride the Great Orme Tramway or the longest cable car in Great Britain. Historic Conwy is just a few minutes by car and offers the mighty Edward I Conwy Castle and town walls (A World Heritage Site), Aberconwy House, Conwy Suspension Bridge (NT), Plas Mawr (Cadw), a wealth of quirky individual shops, and the quay where fresh fish is landed daily. The Conwy Valley takes you down towards Betws-y-Coed, the ‘gateway to Snowdonia’.
