Ash Lodge is a brilliantly spacious and bright three bedroom lodge, refurbished in 2019 and set within the family friendly Retallack Resort. This welcoming lodge is set in a wonderful location, whether you want to relax in stunning rural Cornwall or visit the famous coastline nearby.

When you step inside, you’ll be greeted by a large open plan living, kitchen and dining area which becomes flooded with natural light. Whether you want to prepare a delicious home cooked meal for the family, gather around the table or relax in front of the TV with a good film, this is the most inviting space. Ash Lodge also has three cosy bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an additional living and dining area on the first floor which opens out onto a delightful private balcony.

From the living area you can step through the sliding doors onto your own private, decked terrace. On a sunny day you can sit on the comfy chairs, sheltered under the parasol and enjoy a glass of wine or a bite to eat. There’s even a barbecue provided for those summer festivities.

If you don’t fancy venturing too far away from the lodge, there’s plenty on your doorstep to keep you occupied. On-site you’ll find a restaurant and bar, pitch and putt, tennis court and for the adventurous, the Flow Rider wave machine. To see more of the stunning beauty that Cornwall has to offer, you won’t have to travel far to reach picturesque Padstow and its fantastic restaurants.

Listen to music on the digital radio or choose your soundtrack with the Bluetooth system while preparing a tasty meal or barbecue using fresh local ingredients and seafood.
You will even find handy under-window storage filled with dog towels for your four-legged friends, as well as dog ID tags and complimentary treats. Your dogs will find all their self-catering needs covered throughout the stay with services such as evening dog sitting and a doggy day-care facility in an enclosed 3.5 acre field where they can play freely, under close supervision, as you head out on an action-packed adventure.
Admire the exposed beams and brickwork as you make yourself at home in the dining room, a wonderful space to indulge in a bottle of wine or two as you enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal. A restful sitting room has been decorated with sumptuous leather sofas and a traditional woodburning stove that takes centre stage within the charming granite fireplace.

Head up to the first floor and glide into the fresh Egyptian cotton bed linen in one of the four attractive bedrooms, each complete with TVs, large fluffy towels, as well as a selection of complimentary toiletries.
The bedrooms are made up of a large kingsize, a large double, another double accessed via one side only, and a twin room.
Right across the way, a family bathroom with gorgeous oak flooring boasts both a feature roll top bath and separate large walk-in shower, as well as a basin, heated towel rail and a WC.
Outside, discover a spacious enclosed garden and patio with outdoor seating, where you can take advantage of the day-long sunshine whilst dining alfresco with a tasty barbecue and planning all of your upcoming adventures.
The property is serviced by a private well. Therefore, we would ask that you are mindful of this during the hot summer months. The owner lives next door so can be on hand if required.
The cottage’s location is fantastic for exploring both the quaint and scenic countryside as well as the fantastic beaches on the coast, with the nearest shop being just a short walk away in the hamlet of Tregaswith, and lots of pubs and eateries to choose from in St. Columb Major down the road.
Set off on a surfing expedition to Newquay’s nearby world famous Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay known for enjoying incredible waves all year round, with surf schools here to teach beginners all they need to know!
Choose from several beaches along this stretch of coast, including Mawgan Porth Beach, Great Western Beach, Lusty Glaze Beach, Towan Beach and Crantock Beach, all of which are dog friendly all year round, so you’re sure to find a spacious spot for your group!
The attractions of Newquay are sure to amaze, with Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium offering superb outings for any ages, while keen golfers will definitively love trying out the links on Newquay Golf Club whilst admiring stunning sea views from every hole.
Enjoy all this fun all the while knowing your dogs are having just as much fun; the owner’s fully insured dog sitting service is available in the evening and daytime, with action-packed fun in the 3.5 acre, fully enclosed field, with a stream and copse for shade.

Hen Harrier Lodge, with its stunning interior design, provides comfortable and stylish accommodation from which to enjoy this beautiful county and coastline. Padstow, home to the foodie empire of Rick Stein, the celebrated TV chef, has narrow cobbled lanes that meander around this ancient fishing village and gravitate towards the working fishing harbour. Get a pasty or an ice cream and watch the boats come and go with the days catch. Padstow sits at the mouth of the Camel Estuary and you can hire bikes in the town and cycle along the flat multi-use trail that hugs the shoreline as it heads into the countryside towards the market town of Wadebridge, full of craft and gift shops and bakeries.
The coastline nearby is dotted with secluded sandy coves and fishing villages which make a stunning backdrop to the South West Coast Path, which is a must if you enjoy walking and great views. Newquay, renowned for surf culture across its 11 beaches, is also easily reached with its own zoo, tennis club, cinema, ample bars, restaurants, cafés and coffee shops. Why not book some lessons with a local surf school and try your hand at this amazing sport?
Port Isaac, Polzeath and Rock are all nearby and easily reached with many golf clubs in the region including The Point, St Enodoc and Merlin, enabling you to play at many clubs through the week. The south coast of Cornwall is also easily accessible and offers a completely different experience of Cornwall with tropical gardens and its own climate. A visit to Padstow, with its Michelin starred restaurants, cafés, local shops and traditional pubs, is an absolute must. It makes a great day out for all whilst meandering around the lanes that gravitate to the quaint working harbour where you can watch the day boats depart. Rick Stein has a large presence in the town with delis, a chip shop and cookery school. Padstow sits at the mouth of the Camel Estuary, a tidal river which is home to sea life and wading birds, and has its very own multi-use trail that hugs the shoreline as its drifts inland. There are many excellent bike hire shops right on the quay, and you can cycle inland to the pretty market town of Wadebridge. Or if you are feeling energetic, you can cycle all the way to Bodmin deep within the Cornish countryside, with the reward of fish and chips on the quayside and a pint of local ale from the nearby Brewery at Rock! Alternatively you can catch the ferry from Padstow across the mouth of the estuary to the little village of Rock and hire a stand-up paddle board or sailing dinghy, or walk the coastal path around Daymer Bay and on to Polzeath, which is a great spot for surfing.
Newquay, the county’s capital for surf culture, boasts many charming beaches which offer something for everyone. You can learn to surf at one of the many schools, or just laze away the day on one of the quieter more family friendly beaches such as Porth or the stunning Lusty Glaze, which has a great beachside pizzeria and rum bar with live music on most nights during the summer. This is a favourite with the locals and is a great place to watch the sun set.
Watergate Bay just minutes from the lodge, has a beach with a golden stretch of sand with cafés and pubs with views to die for. Truro, the county capital, as well as Fowey, Port Isaac and St Ives, are all easily reached for days out if you can bring yourself to leave this beautiful part of Cornwall. This area of Cornwall is well known for its golf, and Eagle Owl Lodge is within reach of at least five great courses ranging from The Point at Polzeath, St Enedoc, Trevose and Lanhydrock.
