Cobblestones has some of the best panoramic views in St Mawes, being situated in the exclusive western end of the village close to the castle built by Henry VIII in the 1540s. Cobblestones is reverse level with the main entrance on the same level as the main bedrooms and living area; south facing, with a full width balcony, heated swimming pool (available June to end of August) with permanent safety cover, large garden, plenty of parking and all within walking distance of the village. This is a fantastic property for larger groups and families. the best feature of Cobblestones is, without a doubt, the incredible views. Watch the world go by with yachts, power boats and ferries constantly traversing the vista and occasional shipping movements in Falmouth Bay or heading up the river to the commercial port.
Cobblestones is a 5-minute walk from the pretty harbour area of St Mawes and is one of Cornwall’s most desirable holiday destinations and the stunning harbour, surrounded by lovely local shops, restaurants, bars and hotels is a constant bustle of vibrancy during the season. There are ferry links from the harbour to St Anthony, Falmouth, Trelissick and Malpas. During the winter it is a quiet, peaceful village that rarely sees frosts or snow. St Mawes Castle was built by Henry VIII and is a splendid place to take in the views of the Carrick Roads. There are miles of coastal and countryside walks to take in and some idyllic beaches on which to relax. Beach 2 miles.

Located at the end of a private lane on the edge of Cornwall’s highest village of St Breward, Sandy Barn Cottages comprises three beautifully converted holiday barns (refs B5718, B5719 and W44032) and the owner’s own home, forming a secluded courtyard of 200-year-old granite buildings. The dog-friendly cottages are all tastefully furnished with many character features including slate floors and exposed beams. Cross Cottage (ref B5718) is detached with views over neighbouring fields.
Ideally situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor for exploring the landscape of tors and moorland. Enjoy walking, cycling, riding, fishing or simply relaxing. The nearest beach of Trebarwith Strand is 20 minutes’ away, but may favourites such as Whitehaven, Daymer Bay, Polzeath and Trevone are within 30-40 minutes’. With the beaches of the North Cornwall coast within 12 miles, visitors can enjoy the best of coast and countryside, alternating their days between tranquil landscapes, coastal walks and seaside fun at the beaches.
Places of interest such as Wadebridge, Padstow, Port Isaac, Boscastle and Tintagel. The National Trust property at Lanhydrock, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach for a day out.
Sandy Barn Cottages are tucked away, surrounded by fields, but still in the heart of the village. Local amenities comprise of a village shop and pub serving food, both within easy walking distance, ¼ mile.

The property is serviced by a private well. Therefore, we would ask that you are mindful of this during the hot summer months. The owner lives next door so can be on hand if required.
The cottage’s location is fantastic for exploring both the quaint and scenic countryside as well as the fantastic beaches on the coast, with the nearest shop being just a short walk away in the hamlet of Tregaswith, and lots of pubs and eateries to choose from in St. Columb Major down the road.
Set off on a surfing expedition to Newquay’s nearby world famous Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay known for enjoying incredible waves all year round, with surf schools here to teach beginners all they need to know!
Choose from several beaches along this stretch of coast, including Mawgan Porth Beach, Great Western Beach, Lusty Glaze Beach, Towan Beach and Crantock Beach, all of which are dog friendly all year round, so you’re sure to find a spacious spot for your group!
The attractions of Newquay are sure to amaze, with Newquay Zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium offering superb outings for any ages, while keen golfers will definitively love trying out the links on Newquay Golf Club whilst admiring stunning sea views from every hole.
Enjoy all this fun all the while knowing your dogs are having just as much fun; the owner’s fully insured dog sitting service is available in the evening and daytime, with action-packed fun in the 3.5 acre, fully enclosed field, with a stream and copse for shade.

Fairview (CWC561946) is a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with an entrance on the first floor and a large living/dining room, a cosy wood-burning stove, there is a west-facing conservatory down a couple of steps with sofa and access to a small private garden. A family bedroom on the first floor provides a level living area for those with a mobility issue. On the ground floor are further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Barn Cottage (CWC562587) is also a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms on the ground floor.
This is a real farm experience, fresh free-range eggs are available from the owners, and there are a number of walks across the delightful 150 acres. This is a dog-friendly property however please note that it is a working Beef and Sheep farm, so dogs must be kept under control.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland which has a magnificent church with an amazing painted ceiling and one of the tallest towers in England. Hartland Quay has a hotel and Wreckers Bar as the coast here is littered with wrecks and is a lovely spot for some lunch. Also well worth a visit is the world-famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400’ high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. Beach 2 miles.

Sea Home is a lovely family house with three of its four bedrooms conveniently located on the ground floor. The fourth, a superb master bedroom with en-suite bedroom is set on the first floor as is the library, a tranquil area in the house if you are looking for a spot of privacy from the rest of your party. There are views from most rooms including bedroom two, bedroom one, the library, the living room with comfortable seating for six, and the dining room which has a large table and seating for six.
This property has a strong Vodafone signal and a comprehensive information pack with useful phone numbers and addresses for the local area. The welcome hamper includes Spanish Cava, biscuits, coffee, chocolate, cheese, grapes and chutney. Inside, you will find a fantastic quality kitchen equipped with NEFF appliances, a treat for any keen cook. A stone’s throw away from Sea Home is the mile long sandy beach patrolled daily by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Coastguard. Access to The Southwest Coastal Path is also less than a minute away providing excellent walking opportunities to the iconic harbour of Porthleven to the east and to Prussia Cove and St Michael’s Mount to the west.
Praa Sands Village is a short walk from Sea Home and has no shortage of local amenities including the StonesReef beachfront complex, a pub and restaurant, cafes and a general hardware and gift store. There is also a 9-hole Golf course, a fuel station and a Co-Op a short distance away.
